  1. They’re worse now if the reports of disgruntled customers are anything to go by, one line they used as an excuse was RM were on strike.

  4. Odd arrangement though isn't it?
The customer having to insure themselves against their (the courier) own incompetence and thievery.

  5. Yes, but I’ve still paid the extra to cover expensive items. IIRC that RM only cover up to £27 on lost or missing items, not sure on ParcelForce.

  6. What makes me laugh is the model way of delivering parcels these days by just placing them on the doorstep & take photograph, even if it's a locked wrought iron gated property without ringing the doorbell.........crazy but that's delivered sir.!!
The only trouble is when some scumbag walks off with your goods, then you've to do ten rounds with the devil.

  7. I like the fact they leave them now, I hated having to go to the depot, or stay home for the re-delivery.
But, you're right, some drivers are more dumb then others, even if you specify your 'safe place' they'll still leave it on the doorstep. It's a popular pastime with the local ne'er do wells around Christmas, to cruise around stealing parcels from doorsteps.

  8. I'm with you on the former as driving to the depot will cost fuel & time which doesn't make sense if you've paid for a letterbox delivery.

  9. When Hermes was still Hermes, an old work colleague of mine regularly used to report stuff as not delivered/missing (usually expensive power tools) as they left them in such ridiculous places it begged belief.

dude ended up with more cordless drills than the local hardware shop

  10. On the other hand our Evri delivery guy always knocks on the door, if we don't answer he goes through the side gate and leaves it under the patio table where it won't get wet, and leaves a card saying where it is. All that despite us living at the end of a very quiet cul de sac.

He's even been known to ask me the next day if he' s delivering if I saw the card from the day before.
I don't have a bad word about him.

The Parcel force guy is the same, but the various post 'people' can all f**k off unless they can work out how to deliver my mail to my house, not my neighbours, and vise versa.
