if you check the status of the vehicle on the .gov website it will say failure without mot I bet. any mot is only to say that at the time of testing the vehicle was roadworthy. if 2 months later wear the tyre bald naturally any subsequent mot test will fail as it is unroadworthy and will supercede any previous mot test this is not a grey area
And will, therefore, show up on police ANPR systems as having failed the MoT - hence you can be nicked for it...
