I have sat on the fence on this subject for some time. However I feel that I have the answer that a lot of you guys seem to be looking for, re buffeting and wind noise. Get rid of your Multistradas and buy a BMW 530M Sport. Very quiet, no buffeting, fast and comfortable. Oh sorry it's not a motorbike! Motorbikes are not supposed to be like cars. They are a personal expression of your lifestyle choices. My Multi puts a smile on my face riding to a track day, puts a huge grin on my face when I am out on track. Gets me home afterwards in relative comfort, compared to a sports bike not a BMW RT. It does what it was designed for, and very well. I love mine and intend to do many 1000's of miles across Europe and the UK this summer.
For me the point of the Multistrada is that is a multi purpose bike and IMHO the only bike that can do those many things. It is good on a track, on an A or B road and on a dirt track. Getting the screen right makes it a great long distance touring bike as well so that's the purpose of getting the screen set up in a way that suits all those roles. I have both standard and GT screen, I used a standard screen on a recent track day and then put the GT screen (with Deflector) on for my longer distance rides. Whatever screen it is a great bike and is great fun in all its multiple roles.
Hi, I got the genuine Ducati PP screen. I like my Arai (Phil Read rep) a lot, but the Shoei is more comfortable, much much quieter and if im honest, feels a bit better quality. Very surprising to me really, especially as the Shoei is a flip lid for touring. So now I use the Shoei on the Multi and the Arai on my 999
Just fitted a Wunderlich screen extender- the first time I have tried making changes to the screen on the Multi-and now on the 2013 bike. Trip to Rutland water to try on Thursday and what a different world. Air pressure and noise all significantly improved. And in a funny sort of way it looks ok-though it can be removed. Shame there isn't a facility to try these bits of kit before buying to see if they work for you.
I've got one of these, too. And my god, it's comfy! Noise can appear though, but it is so much more comfy and I'd say quieter than my old XR1000
Im obviously fortunate, I'm 5'10" and i don't have any issues with my 2013 screen. I had a Tiger 800 before this and had test ridden the 990 SMT, both bikes were worse than the 2013 MTS by some margin
