Thinking about F1 drivers and bikes - wasn't Juan Pablo Montoya's career at Macca impacted by a shoulder injury he got from a bike crash which he claimed was a tennis accident!

 

I remember seeing him race a bike a Mallory.

 

He won the 350LC pro am - the craziest race series ever - top skills and huge nads

 

He's just being a playboy again.
He doesn't have the talent or the balls to race bikes...

 

Yes, I shared a grid with him at Snetterton in 1983 (I think), dont recall positions at the end of six laps. Still got the programme somewhere.

 

Has anyone done the jump from F1 to top level bikes and done well in modern times?

 

I’d imagine if you had one of the 20 seats in F1 you wouldn’t want to jump on the bikes. You’d be on shitloads more cash for a kick off. Then you’d be fighting all the red hot klunge off with a shitty stick, rat arsed on Vive Cliquot every night. Nah, ram the bikes!
