Well having spent just shy of £2k on a one piece and another grand on a lid and boots I'm not one to skimp on gear but if you don't want to bend your wallet for the occasional ride on the back of a chicken chaser its still good value and besides Aldi would not be selling anything that wasn't up to spec.
The base layers and socks are well worth having, got a couple of bike covers too, and they've served well.
I have the Lidl base layers and wonder if the Aldi ones would be better......... ......but having had one cheap lid, there is no way I would buy another helmet for £30.............I would rather use my 20 year old AGV Quasar Kevlar / Carbon composite helmet which was hardly used......
The neck tubes and lock for a tenner look good value, we have one down the road so I'll have a gander this morning
The Aldi down the road from us is packed full of middle class shoppers, not much Umbro clothing being worn!
At the end of the day that cheap gear serves a useful purpose to people who can't afford to swathe themselves in Dainese and Alpinestars, and it's them it's aimed at, not us ducatisti hoi polloi. Many people are grateful for it.
There is already a similar thread on this. http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f34/lidl-cheap-tops-trousers-20220/ I was in there yesterday buying butter!! and they were advertising the gear on sale. A lot of it is pretty decent for the money.
