only used it for a day then took it off, got stopped for speeding on it with a provisional, never got busted for that tho.
after another 5 year break (couldn't keep a bike in Aberdeen due to thieving scumbags) bought for the 60mile commute. great bike had a klr250 at the same time for trail riding.
First time ever on a proper bike was nearly a year ago now when MissPineapple let me have a go on her Monster around the car park at Bisley shooting range. It was obviously a well thought out master plan as now we have a garage full of bikes. I passed my test at the end of January and went straight from the test centre to the local Honda Stealers and payed well over the odds for a (admittedly very mint) CBR600F. 6 weeks and 2000 miles later I got an R1 as I was itching to get on track. It had been crashed and flipped so was cheap but it's done me well this year and taken trackdays and lots of abuse in it's stride until it started playing up a couple weeks back. About the same time as getting the R1 I did some Ron Haslam race school days. The new Fireblades were mind-blowing; so much easier to ride quickly than the old bikes I'd experienced up until then. I testrode a few different new bikes but nothing excited me quite like the Panigale 1199. I had some problems getting finance and being impatient got a 2012 model second hand the day before heading out to the Isle of Man TT. We had an epic week blasting around the TT course until some bolts came loose inside the clutch cover and destroyed the clutch basket. An expensive bill later and a few more minor coil pack problems and I decided to trade in for a new one which has been faultless including 3500miles around Europe View attachment 39268
When the R1 had some starting issues I decided to do an engine refresh on it and bought a KTM 620 SMC Supermoto. unfortunately it didn't go as planned as it made the 120mile journey home and then the engine blew the next day so thats currently in bits with a blown big end bearing! The plan had been to get some offroad wheels for the Supermoto but it turns out thats only really practical if you want to do a bit of green-laning whereas I'm keen to do some proper offroad stuff so the only thing for it was to blow the rest of my money on some enduro bikes! The GasGas arrived this weekend for MissPineapple and the KTM is being delivered next weekend for me. I've knackered my lower back as a complication of recovering too quickly from a crash last month and currently not able to walk so f*ck knows what I'm going to do but hopefully it will get better quickly so I can try out the new bike. So after a year of motorbike obsession I'm broke and a physical wreck. Not bad going
Multistrada a/c probably one of the best bikes I have ever owned. Got the ohlins s spec 1000 v under rated, bar the pig ugly looks is a cracking bike.
After the MZ, came The Water Buffalo: Part-way through the restoration here and missing a mirror. Scrotes in the neighbourhood sometimes mistook the bike for a freebie bike shop.
