Lincs Italian Motorcycle Festival Monday 28th May

Discussion in 'Rideouts & Events' started by Chris Jessop, Apr 8, 2018.

  1. Strange over in the West too. It was dry all evening at the Etihad in Manchester. When we got the tram back to Ashton it was still dry. Picked the car up and drove through Mossley and it was evident it had rained a lot with puddles all over the road. Got through Mossley and it was dry again.

It’s now 6.35am and I’m going to get up in 10 mins. Should be meeting @bettes at 8am then on to Ferrybridge to meet @Exige around 8.45am. Then on to Tesco in Scunthorpe. See you all around 10am with a bit of luck :) :upyeah:

  5. Was it you on the MV, Higgy?

  6. Interesting day out - at least no one got stranded with a broken Ducati - all the broken Ducati's limped home safely :):upyeah:

  7. Did anyone find Tim?

  8. Yes. I met him in Brigg and we rode on to Kirkby together. Were there other limping bikes?

  9. Yip :eyes: the 599.5cc Pani and my 1198cc constant loss water :splat: system R - but devised a neat trick on the way home (but we're not mentioning any of this on here )………………..:eyes:

  11. Aha, only realised afterwards that I didn’t get your name. Doh.

  12. My radiator went on my 1098 while I was in Belgium last weekend. We will have to have a Forum buy of Cinese replacements

  13. Probably better quality :eyes: you didn't limp back from Belgium then?

  14. Anyhoo - shhhhh :eyes:

  15. There is a fault on my Fan circuit and as a result I fitted a manual switch. I found that if I turned them on early and kept the temperature at no more than 85 it didn't piss anywhere near as much water out.

  16. Bloody poxy Italian pieces of S**t! If I wanted something to tinker with at the side of the road less than 5 miles in to the ride out, I'd have bought a pissin Lambretta!
(I don't feel quite so bad knowing @Exige's bike also three the teddy's out the pram)

Following limping the Panigale home, we removed the seat cowl on Mrs M's monster and blasted along the wolds to catch the crowd. Stopped off quickly for Mrs M to have a pee in the bushes and got a call from @bettes to fill me in on the saga that followed the Panigale throwing a wobbler. Met up with Ian, Terry and Jonno again, by which time we had missed the majority of the show so decided to head off for some fish & chips and take a ride back. Terry and Ian called in at ours for a Cuppa and toilet stop before heading off home.

So although it was an eventful day, and all plans fell apart very quickly... Disaster was avoided and we still managed nice ride out and enjoyed it.

I must say, the sound and sight in my mirrors of the 10 of us coming through Scunthorpe was brilliant and live with me for good while!

Glad you made it home safely @Exige and the bike did too :upyeah:

It was also great to meet you @Fire3500, @Tim K. It's a shame things didn't quite go to plan and get to have a proper ride out and chat. Always another tme though.

Here's a photo from be for it all went pear shaped!!

Great to see @Exige @El Toro @bettes & @higgy748 again. I'll be getting on the phone to Italia Moto first thing in the morning to see what they have to say about the Panigale dropping down to one cylinder, I'm sure it will be something simple and hopefully not take too long for me to get sorted and back on the road. Hopefully catch up with you all again in the not too distant future!

  17. Getting water in is a bitch with only 1 of the 2 allen key sizes needed for the fairing and without a tube and funnel too, thank fook for plastic money that can be rolled into a nice funnel - 3 stops to get back to York...
Thanks to Ian for the loan of the key - text your address and I'll post it bag bud :):upyeah:
