V4 Long Term Hibernation - Best Practice, Post Lockdown

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Topolino, Apr 7, 2020.

  1. Fwiw, I park mine up every winter on a trickle charge. I coat it in ACF 50, and keep it dry and covered. I often leave it three months. Start it then without any trouble and run the engine just up to about 70 degrees or so. Then re-cover and re-store.
Never had a problem with it.

  2. Do we get an update?

  3. It's getting there Razz. I was planning to post an update this week as it's been a while since I was on here and the build has move on substantially since then!

  4. I’m sure it was tongue in cheek. But not far off the mark tbf. The short and tall is that there isn’t really a long winded recommissioning procedure. Petrol will still be fine. If it was mine I’d just start the bugger and let it tick over for a short while. Check tyre pressures and off....

I’ve got a little 2.8kva petrol generator in my garage. I haven’t used it for 5+ years so just for shits and giggles I dug it out last week wondering if it would go. Fired up second pull with full choke :upyeah: I then load tested it with a 2kw kettle. Perfect :bucktooth:
