Looking At A 998s Tomorrow

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by VtwinDave, Mar 28, 2015.

  1. That's the one Anto , its up a long time I know and a mad price me thinks but I had to go and have a look and it wasn't for me , it wasn't adding up with the mileage and its condition so I walked away and I think ive done the right thing .

  2. Thinking of putting in a bid on the this one , anyone know the bike or what they think of it , cheers Dave

  3. Much better value and nice looking bike.

  4. As said, its easy to get swept away with a deal, then regret later. If there are any doubts, youre right to walk away. That red one^^^ has got to be worth a look.

  5. Plus if you buy the bip and want the bling, at that money you can get everything you want with cash to spare...then sell seperately later for probably what you paid!

  6. Nice but looking for something up to around £5500

  7. That's what that one in rite bike is going for, I think. There were 2 998 s there a couple of weeks ago.

  8. Yeah I've seen that one aswell , if they only had termignoni pipes and single seat unit

  9. Ok, mate. Let me know if you want / need more info on it and I'll pop round when I get back of hols. I bought my bike from these people and I reckon they'd drop another £200 / 300 off their price as the bike's been there for a few weeks now. With mine, they put new tyres on and a full service including belts. Decent people, (as far as dealers go).

  10. You won't get a much better price for that mileage if it checks out OK :) and it will hold it's value well...

  11. They are OK, some people are weary of them (used to be Viva Moto) and the other part of their company is We Buy Any Bike (.co.uk) They buy cheap and sell cheap. I bought a 999S and an MV750S off them for bargain prices and had no issues. The 999S (7000 mile) was up at £5K and I got it for £4.5K. The MV (4500 mile) was up at £5.3K and I got it for £5.1K. Both had good history and service records with MOT's and service books to prove mileage.

  15. Jem speed shop one looks tidy and unmolested (repainted seat unit) top end price tho

most 998s in the UK were biposto so finding a genuine single seat is unusual
50mm termis and seat unit and the different plate u need come up on here or on ebay often

  16. I thought I would throw my 2 pence worth in. I have a 998s Final Edition in my little bike collection with less than 2000 miles in total from new. It is my special little toy and only comes out for weekend blasts on rare occasions and if you end up with one you will love it, it is my real favourite amongst all of my toys. Good luck with finding a good one.
