Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by VtwinDave, Mar 28, 2015.

  1. Good for you! Hope you get it. Does look a decent buy for the money.
I was thinking just the other day that knowing Sod's law all too well, the bike would have gone before I get back off my hols.

    Ian

  2. Bit like that stand then

  3. Pretty much!

  4. Well he came back to me with a no thanks on my offer , was £5000 cash to low do ye's think , I know nobody gets their asking price .

  5. Depends what he has in it - they don't mess around from my experience - I got £200 off the MV as mentioned earlier only leaving him £300 in it (and no, not from him telling me, I knew what he paid). The 999S I bought I got £500 off. They are not into haggling, just selling in quantity for low prices - it's how there business model works.
Shame you can't view and do a deal if your in Ireland.

  6. Are they, if you went in and put 5k on the counter the deal would be done,

    Looks a clean bike,

  7. Depends what they bought it in at in my experience - if they can turn a small ish profit they will deal...
I nearly bought a 998FE off one of the owners of the business, but he wouldn't budge a penny on it. He was asking a bit over the odds with that one and as I was after a mono at the time and it wasn't I didn't barter for long.

  9. bought a sp1 from them a while back. as its been said they buy cheap and sell cheap.
was speaking to the manager and he was saying they shift 30-60 bikes per week! sounds like bullshit but in the 45mins i was there another 4 bikes had been sold (it was a saturday morning though) so seemed to be true.
i would say go check the bike out first. the workshop has a fondness of alloy spraypaint and anything that doesnt look right they spray it lol
on the pics the sp1 looked fantastic but its only when i got there wheel spindles had been repainted, suspension links. repainted the rads whilst on the bike so when you took the fairing off it had a painted triangular section wtf!

had a good look round the showroom and there was some great bikes for great prices so please dont think im slagging them off. just go check it first so you arent disappointed.

try offering 5k as a trade sale with no warranty. thats what i did and got £350 reduction

  10. I offered them £5200 without a service the weekend and they came back and said no , but might be sort , I'll know tomorrow evening.

  11. give them a ring dave. imagine all the morons that email them every day. theres a guy answering all them and hes hardly going to track down the sales manager every time a offer comes through. ring, speak to the sales staff and im sure they will be far more helpful
    good luck!
