1200 DVT Loose Rear Mudguard

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by If only, Feb 27, 2021.

  1. I made them, I cut the big crud catcher off, this left two holes in the original bit you can see, I plastic filled them and rubbed them down flat, then hydro dipped all the parts myself using carbon film. In hindsight I would have dipped them to get the weave going the same way but it was almost my first attempt.

All you see in carbon is hydro dipped.

  2. I prefer function over form. I'm keeping my splash guard on.

  3. I took mine off after a few weeks, ridden in all weather with and without it, and hadn’t noticed a huge difference in how dirty it gets. So it’s been on the shelf in my garage ever since.

  4. I understand that the guard is a help with spray off the rear wheel but also a requirement, IIRC, of TUV type approval in Germany to do with the alleged dangers of an exposed rear wheel.

  5. If anyone wants to get rid of theirs I'll gladly take it off your hands and adapt it to fit on my Enduro. I tend to ride in all weathers, and get a bit fed-up with wearing the countryside.

  6. I agree

    They look Shit..
    But they stop the Shit!

  7. Nik, I still have my broken one. You are welcome to have it for the cost of postage. It could be stuck back together easily enough.
Bear in mind that it is made for a single sided swing arm so will need a bit of imagination to adapt it for your double sided swing arm.

  8. I took mine off, hideous looking thing, much nicer without it.
