Lorenzo To Ride For Ducati??

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by comfysofa, Mar 29, 2016.

  1. it's a good book,i certainly changed my opinion about him,hes always trying to better himself in everything he does not just racing,I'm sure he regrets some of the things he's said and done at the race track, something that can't be said for some of the riders

  2. Hodgson says the people who should know say he is going to Ducati :Wideyed:

  3. if Ducati want to loose brand image, Audi's offer to Lorenzo should be productive.

  5. After sundays shenanigans I think someone is going at Ducati...

  6. So can he do it, If he signs that is, If he does sign, and I think its all speculation, I don't think he has the style to ride that bike, Just my own thoughts,

  7. Rossis "you need balls to sign for Ducati, so i think Lorenzo will stay at Yamaha" reverse psychology seems to have worked, although I'm sure JL knows what hes doing,i reckon Maverick will be/should be, top of Yamahas shopping list

not sure about that, Dovis style is not unlike Lorenzos and he seems to doing fine with it

  9. True, But again, Has he got the mental mind set for it will his crew want to follow with him gues we will all see this weekend

  10. they reckon it won't be until they move back to Europe before anythings confirmed, hes never been bothered by Rossis mind games before..one things for sure if he does move Rossi will be happy being the number 1 factory rider again..for a while anyway!

  11. I can't wait to see Mr C's arse on the town hall steps :)

  12. I reckon Lorenzo will win on the duke. I dont think it will be easy but he will do it.

  13. I think it will happen but I dont think he will get to grips with it.

The Duke seems a lot more user friendly these days but as they said at the weekend Lorenzo is quite a 'head' rider so if it doesnt go right straight away I think he will struggle. He has a smooth style but I think the Duke still needs to be muscled around a bit unlike the Yam....

Maverick to Yamaha would be great though, been a fan of his for a few seasons since the early classes.....

Marquez is out of contract though isnt he? Hmm him and Rossi at Yamaha? That would be interesting!

  14. ha ha that would be interesting..would have to get the builders in to get that wall up again!

  15. Ducati have said they are aware that both Jorge and Marc are out of contract. They might end up with both of them on the team. Very doubtful but you never know.
Jorge was having a hell of a strop because the bike/tyres weren't working for him this weekend. He would have to get used to a few more weekends like that if he does move to Ducati.

  16. I agree. It isn't easy now on the Yamaha though. You'd think he was winning every race by 30secs the way people are talking.

I'm convinced that the Ducati isn't the poisoned chalice it was, this could be a smart move, they've moved on leaps and bounds in 2 years, how much further will they be by the start of next year?. Again there is the perceived wisdom by some on here that you have to grab the Ducati by the scruff of the neck and it would not suit a smooth rider like Lorenzo (based purely on the fact that Stoner used to ride it like that, which was a different bike, years ago). I confidently predict that Lorenzo will silence the naysayers. This isn't the same circumstances as Rossi's move where Ducati stuck stubbornly to the carbon frame for ages and he had to force the issue. The management have changed and I believe Gigi will give him everything he need to win.

Rossi's attempted mind games will have zero to do with Lorenzo's final decision, him and his people are too smart for that.

Vinales to Yamaha could be a great move.

  18. Hmm...So it looks like J Lo is heading off to Ducati next year, think I read somewhere that he's been offered an 11 million Euro contract to move.

If J Lo does get to the stage where he's winning on the Ducati it could make Rossi's mindgames backfire on him, as then that will show Rossi as the only rider who could not win on the Ducati, if you get my drift??

What I'd like to see is J Lo move to Ducati ( very probable now ) and then for Ducati to throw a shed load of money at Stoner to get him back into GP's again, I think that would be a dream team and see the Ducati's on the podium most weekends

  19. I don't think Stoner will ever come out of retirement and be a full factory rider, Test rider yes, As much as I would love to see stoner back to full racing I think we can only dream, I may be wrong, Most of the times I am , I would love to see Stoner and MM duel it out on track, as for Lorenzo, A move to Ducati, I think will be risky, and yes I read also they have offered him big bucks, if he does do it at least he has his old Mentor from the aprillia days that made him a winning bike back then
