1200 DVT Low Speed Brake Vibration

  1. Gotta be pads then pal. Or could be bobbins. There was a post about lubing them and rotating them by placing a bolt through with a nut on the other side. Tighten both sides then turn the bobbin with a drop of lube. The other thing you could try is removing one disc, turn through 90 degrees and reinstall it. Could make a difference to the rotary dynamics or harmonic you're likely experiencing as you come to a stop. You get a few turns on each disc to try and see if it makes a difference. My guessing is it's probably pads. EBC HH sintered pads are really good. Keep us posted.

  5. that might have been me, had an advisory on my MOT for slight brake force fluctuation at the lever, you could feel it when coming to a stop but no noise. Nut and bolt through the bobbin until tight and then carry on rotating the bolt with a liberal spray of brake cleaner (no lubricant involved!) should clear out and free off any stuck bobbins. Then when finished grab the disk with both hands and there should be a mm or 2 rotational play in it.
    Worked for me.

  6. One of the Techs at a Ducati dealer told me to use a rubber mallet around the disc (I guess it frees the Bobbins too), certainly worked on mine.

  7. Final update...with the cure!!

You sir are a proper star. After tapping the disc(s) on the edge, turning the wheel and repeat for about 10 minutes the friction part of the disc was noticeably free-er on the carrier.
Rode the bike for 250 miles over the weekend and the brakes were now 100% perfect. Happy dayz.

Keeping in mind that I had already got all the bobbins to turn I have to admit I was a bit skeptical but it worked for me.

    Thank you everyone who helped.
