1199 M7rr Metzlers

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Sam1199, Mar 28, 2015.

  1. MY SF 848 came with a 60 profile tyre as stock and my 899 did to. When they needed replacing I dropped to 55 profile tyres, neither bike behaved differently to having the 60 profile tyre fitted.

  2. Good luck

  3. Good that's what I wanted to hear. I guessed the blurb in the manual about the tc and abs being calibrated for the rosso corsa was just precautionary. I'll be putting some M7s on next month then.

  4. I have road pilot 3's on my SF they are good and long life span too, not sure what to fit on my 1199 may go the route of the M7RR will wait to see Sam's report back once he has come back from abroad as I believe he will be clocking up a couple of thousand miles.
I saw the tyres in the flesh today and they look like they have plenty of tread on them which is a bonus :)

  5. I honestly couldn't believe how good they were when I put them on the Daytona. Noticeably better than other tyres I had tried on the road. Loved them even more on track.

  6. I looked up in Metzlers technical data book, they recommend for an 1199 with M7 RR's
    Front 2.3 bar. = 33.4 psi
    Rear 2.4bar= 34.9

Last year I met a Metzler Rep who said to run the tyres 3psi less than the stated pressures because they were always slightly over done!

    So that =
    Front 2.1 bar = 30.4 psi
    Rear 2.2 = 31.9 psi

    Try it n see.

  10. M7 rr going on soon , suited my old 11 so should be the same on the 12 , excellent tyre better wear than SC and cheaper

  11. Just changed the rear M7rr on my SF. Got 4000 miles out of it and it kept performing right up to the end. Very happy with them.
Even on your 1299 they should do way better than 1800.

  12. Got 2600 miles out of them when on the 11

  13. Thanks Grizzly, see my earlier post for Metzlers recommendations. I'll try our yours though.

  14. Metzeler's on now see how these fair on the 12 , SC scubbed off at around 1500 miles

  15. I've done 1400 + miles on this trip aim just over a week and these tyres have been great. Been up mountain twisties and fast sweepers. At 1 point a yellow light came on. Christ! Ice! It was 1 degree but raining so much it couldn't freeze but these tyres have been great the whole way. Confidence inspiring and you can feel them bite into the bends when you push them. I'm touring so I'm not as hard on the tyres as some of you guys. I have to say I'm glad I've got them on. Changing from F to P on the rear suspension makes it much more comfortable.
