Marc Marquez, champ or not. ?

  1. Yes he does deserve to be champ, he's raced and won.

    Congrats ta to him

  2. Hmm! The fact is he is champion and no one can take that away from him.. amazing for a first season in Motogp no matter how you look at it! Yes, I think he had his more than his fair share of luck and was a bit too aggressive at times but it made for some fantastic racing too. I think that Lorenzo's riding in the last 5 or 6 rounds was stunning to put himself in with a fighting chance going into the last race or what is an inferior bike to the Honda!

  3. Yes, that 'inferior' Yamaha has won 6 world championships in the last ten years compared to the 'superior' Honda's 3...

  4. How could he steal 'Lorenzo's title' with this one move? He was black flagged at Phillip Island, which sort of evens it up a bit. Im not having a pop at Jorge, but if Marquez only had two competitors (Pedders and Lorenzo), then by the same token Lorenzo onlty had two competitors, Marquez and Pedders..
I think it's all balanced put in the end, and the best man one...i wouldve preferred it to be Rossi as his swan song,Lorenzo has already had the title once, and its nice to see a few records get broken and a new upstart on the block to breathe new life into the series.
    Good luck to him.

  6. I may have come across as anti Marquez , but nothing is further from the truth, he's great a breathe of fresh air and I'm ok he's champion , Lorenzo has shown I think that he is the best rider in motogp , he just didn't happen to win the title , the same could be said about Rossi losing in 06 to NH .
That aside is this an illegal move or not.

  7. Clearly not, otherwise he would have been penalised. And as no other competitors complained about it we must assume that the only people concerned about it are on this here forum...

  8. I haven't been a massive fan of MotoGP but that was one of the best races I have seen in a long time. Knocks the socks of formula snooze.....

Yeh technically it was a dodgy overtake but put into perspective over the entire season he was the "better" rider.

Better = consistant, lucky, skilled, ballsy, bike etc etc etc....

  9. i ve said it before : just the fact that it's MM that makes JL ride at his best level ever says it all. coming along in a rookie year and setting the pace for eveyone else, smashin speeds records, being lethal in last lap of qualifying and being ever so mature and consistent makes MM the deserved winner of 2013...

best memories of MM : the transformation on the wet race where he almost could not keep it upright and then catapults to 2nd..
the .5 seconds gaps in qualifying...

    up to 2014 :)

  10. I don't think this move from halfway through the season is relevant, how would you penalise him, a ride through or taking knocking him down a place after the race? Then he probably still would have been champion as he would have had to finish maybe 2nd instead of 4th in the final race. I think we can all agree Marquez and Lorenzo have both been amazing this year! It's just a shame only one of them can be champion.

  11. Clearly champ. Only a winner would try as hard. F me, even Rossi smiled afterward!

  12. If you think the Laguna Seca one aa bad, what about JL punting off Pedrosa at valencia at least 3 times , taking spaces that wasnt there, being hyper aggressive? That was worse than anything MM has done this year.

    and I loved it :)

  13. Front view is better, philip island says- OOPS!

  14. brilliant :upyeah:

  15. Anybody say race rep?

  16. Totally agree, all JL's moves were premeditated, and therefore far worse than anything Marquez has done all season. Great, wasn't it!:upyeah:

  17. it was how racing should be and tbh club racing often is when you're stuck in the middle of it

  18. And man don't I agree with you bradders , but if someone beat you into second by missing part off the track would you just roll over and take it. If not then you know the answer to the Laguna Seca move.
I'm not bothered about Lorenzo's hard riding nor Marquez's, that makes for good viewing , just whether it is against the rules to leave the track to your advantage.
    It's yes or no .

  19. in F1 hed be penalised as he gained a place off track.
but this just aint cricket is it....its dorna !
