Just a racing incident that didn't really affect the outcome (do you really think that Rossi would hold him off all race long..?). A non-story in my opinion.
tbf its not like he cut a chicane and came out ahead tho is it, and nor is it like he punted JL off and took the win champion in every way on my eyes, and wont be convinced otherwise
Marquez's arrival at the premier class has taken MotoGP to a whole new level for me. I have been in total awe of MM and JL the whole season. At it's best this sport is hands down the most thrilling thing to watch and it's the battle of skill, psychology and personalities that makes it so exciting. Inevitably this throws up some controversy from time to time - a lot of which feels like it had been missing since Marco Simoncelli's tragic death. I thought it was becoming boring, but not any more. The overtake at Laguna was about as far as you could take it but he didn't gain an advantage and how sweet it was to see Rossi get a shovel-full of his own medicine. Thank god a bit of dodgy overtaking is all we've got to gripe about - at least there's no doping, team orders, spot-fixing or umpire-kicking tantrums.
And for me. This season was one of the best I've seen, and it's entirely due to the arrival of Marquez in the premier class. Hopefully next season will see more of the same, and with new regs designed to bring the bikes closer together the action will be even more thrilling.
Yes - exactly! It was a bit weird having two races - prototype and CRT - happening simultaneously. If that Honda production racer is as good as it seems from Stoner's tests I can't wait to see Hayden and other great riders back at the sharp end.
Can't wait to see how Scott Redding will go next season on the Gresini bike. Our best British hope yet... sorry Cal, but I can't see it happening at Ducati. Would love to be proved wrong of course, but Ducati can't even sort out the Panigale and a prototype MotoGP bike is 100 times more finickity.
Yes, I do believe Rossi would have held him off. He manged to do it to Stoner OK. He is the champ. The stats don't lie. I do wish he hadn't pulled that move and the one at Jerez because for me they have tainted his championship. Otherwise, he is great to watch and will keep things lively next year. All those that say that GP will die when Rossi retires - take a look at Marquez and the excitement he has brought this season. Do you really believe that? Seriously?
It would have until the next comes along...luckily that is Marquez now...and will be boring again when Jorge unless another comes along to challenge.
