1199 Market For Panigale R Seems Gloomy

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by ibgarrow, Jul 12, 2023.

  1. Could the new V4R also be drawing buyers' attention and money? I'm seeing a lot of superlatives and I'm sure it's wonderful... until the next one arrives.

  2. Hi, I once had a similar experience with a V4R, I'm from Durham and used to frequent the said ex-Ducati dealer in the NE. In the end I took a relatively small hit on the V4R in exchange for a Bayliss 1098R with the Bike Specialists in Sheffield. My logic was to revert to a favourite, I"d previously owned a 1098R. I've since bought a base model 1299 which is an ace machine. Don't bother about age, I'm 67 and have a 998R, the Bayliss and the 1299 - I think that I'll always love sports bikes p

  3. I rather thought of trading the R in against two bikes from M&S- their 749R and the 916. The latter is somewhat highly-priced, but the sales staff don’t want my R at all, although they were helpful about it.

  4. Nice - is the S4R the 996 engine or the full-fat 998?

  5. It’s a 2003, the 996 one. Now has:
New battery, refurbished forks, new taillight new starter motor, new belts, decat exhaust.
Should you know anyone wanting one. Around 10K miles.

  6. That's a shame, the Panigale R is a cracking bike!

  8. Your love it mate

  9. I hope so. I’ve had a full change of bikes this year. This will be the last one to arrive. I was very surprised I couldn’t shift my 9r beforehand but I got a decent price for it against the panigale r.

  10. hi @ibgarrow - just noticed you bike dolly, how are you getting on with it? i need something as i my garage is getting converted into some living space and ive now got a log cabin in the garden, which isnt as big and i need to now manoeuvre the bike around so looking for options

  11. It works well, BUT:
I covered the floor with OSB to make moving easier
My dolly has little to no clearance between the floor and the bolts securing the casters. One day I’ll add washers to increase the clearance.
