Marquez To Depart Hrc By Mutual Consent

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by KA77, Oct 4, 2023.

  1. Another Ducati. Just what the championship doesn't need - another winning Ducati

The excitement of watching various Ducatis exchange places in the MotoGP (Ducati series).

I wish he was going to Aprilia or KTM

  2. If only he had gone to KTM or Aprilia satellite or factory, just not Ducati

  3. Yup, 100% agree.

  4. Good to hear of a shuffling of the pack so to speak , but better news would have been getting rid of the aero , holeshot and ride height devices. Levelling the playing field and letting the talent shine through would make it one hell of a racing series.

  5. But if you were him, what bike would you want to ride?

  6. Anything not Japanese.

  7. MM, be interesting to see what he does. The Ducati is the best bike on the grid, not like when Rossi or Lorenzo made the move..
A few rider changes for next year.
Would have preferred to have seen Acosta, Dixon and another come through from moto2. Things seem a little stagnant from a new blood pov. Whilst I have been enjoying some great racing, there are several riders that have been circulating for a few seasons that clearly lack the cutting edge to win a championship…

  8. I am not sure how people express their support in MotoGP.

In football you have your team as the players come and go - you might even still appreciate a player who moves to another team, but essentially you support your team.

But with bike racing I have had Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Ducati and KTM shirts and supported them all at various times along with the bike I happen to be riding. Now I want KTM to win 'cause I have got a KTM.

In MotoGP you could support a rider as that rider moves to different teams. But the teams themselves hold no appeal - what is a Gresini, Pramac, Mooney VR46 ? what does that mean to me ? nothing really.

So for me the "Tribe" has been the bike manufacturer. Something of that support will be lost in my support if one manufacturer becomes too dominant and the others just pack up and leave.

  9. For me both parties are winners as they've won eight championships between over the years, what other teams can shout from rooftops with that record, but it's time to draw a line in the sand and try go out on top as a rider before it's too late.

  10. A mate of mine reckons that he is going into the factory team with Enea going to Gresini, since he hasn’t been doing the business. Jorge Martin won’t be pleased at that if he wins the Championship this season

  11. Since vr46 retired I haven’t “supported” a single rider or team and it makes things a lot more enjoyable tbh
Just wish I could apply the same mindset to the footy lol

  12. That’ll be interesting if true… Give MM a competitive bike and he’ll clear off.

Italians can be funny fuckers. Not sure they’ll want a Spaniard on the top step if there are Italian options.

  13. Or alternatively, you could support Newcastle... happy day all day today! After close to 25 years of suffering :(

  14. I’m not so sure any more. He was a phenomenal talent - if somewhat reckless…….

But after all of his injuries I wonder if he hasn’t lost the edge that he had.

To be honest I would like to see him at the sharp end again - but I don’t think he will be a dominant as he once was.

  15. If he can get a podium on that POS Honda hes going to be up the sharp end straight away on the duc imo.
It even won his brother a race (no disrespect to Alex)

  16. I prefer the last Newcastle team to make the CL tbh (and especially the manager) but congrats it was a great win.

  17. You me and Cal agree!

"“I’ve always said if Marc goes on a Ducati, the rest may as well not turn up,” Crutchlow said.

“I’ve always said this. So, for this reason, I don’t want him to go. I want him to turn it around with Honda.

“But I also don’t care. I want to watch a good race on the TV, so Marc is still I believe the best rider – talent – I’ve had the privilege to ride with, because obviously I was riding the Honda at the same time [as him].

“I knew what he was doing, I understood it – I just couldn’t do it. The talent was incredible. I don’t think he has lost this talent.

“I just think at the moment the bike is not letting him do what he used to be able to do. If it did, I still think he’d be in the front of the championship.”

  18. A lovely surprise when I saw 1-0 then 2-0 and finally 4-1, as stated elsewhere it would appear PSG thought they’d walk over NUFC and had a wake up call.:)

  19. He isn’t getting any younger. He’s looking for another WC crown. Jumping on a competitive bike is his best bet…

  20. the Italians being a bit cute about it is what he is thinking with Gresini being a smokescreen for now.

it’s either that or Ducati don’t want him at all but they can’t stop Gresini and so will do what they can to make sure Peco wins. My money would be on this. I think they want an Italian on Ducati.
