They aren’t my style. I like plain and simple colours generally. But different stokes for different folks and all that. I’ve not seen any Chinese ones in the flesh but I’ve have a couple of pairs of levers on other bikes and they’ve been great. I have Evotech levers at the moment and they are almost identical looking to a Chinese one I have in the draw. The quality doesn’t feel any different either
I think Giamoto will make you a set in whatever colour you want. You might pay a bit more for them. That said I do prefer the less blingy ones. Now I'm not just bigging them up because they have supported the team I ride with but they are top fellas. I have run Chinese rearsets too and they were fine, even held up in some hefty crashes. The point of buying something like Giamoto is they are UK based and if you have a problem I'm sure you can pick up the phone and they will help you out. Who knows they may even send you a free part or two to sort the issue. Try doing that with your Chinese rearsets, you'll end up buying a whole new unit. It wasn't until I started running my own business that I realised the benefits of mutually supporting other local people and British Companies trying to do the same. Now I will always choose to pay a little more and try build relationships with real people along the way. Maybe that's why I've never got any money
