Had a look on Oetiker.com. It says this: To ensure everything runs smoothly: Dimensions, identification and ordering Oetiker Clamps and Rings are manufactured to metric dimensions. For identification purposes, the nominal diameter is stamped on each product. To determine the correct clamp diameter, push the hose onto the attaching material, (e.g. the nipple), and then measure the hose’s outer diameter. Select a clamp whose average value of the diameter range is slightly greater than the hose’s outer diameter. That should sort you out, right?
kind of, but really I just want a clamp to be a 16.8 oetiker.. can I find one?!? I’ll have a better look and see, I’m sure they must exist as I have one in my hand

It might sound daft, but you have to strategically put the double ear ones on. As there isnt much room, when the fittings are pushed in.
