I can really see how it would help as there is a massive difference between the very smooth mountain road sections and the super bumpy parts after Selby bridge. The first few laps I did on sport mode and the Panigale was quite happy all round, when I changed to race mode I honestly thought I'd damaged something or got a knackered tyre as the bike was all over the place. I actually pulled over to check the bike, and it was only a bit later that I realised it was just because the suspension settings were too hard.
That's what I was getting at re the active suspension as it would run tighter for the smooth parts and softer for the rough parts.
You really have a point with that. This skyhook multi is incredible and its nothing like as good as the top end sports bikes will be
Ha, well I pick up my 7 billion bhp 1098R tomorrow. With a coupla Stella's down me I reckon I'll kick his arse next year...
The problem with semi active suspension being utilised at somewhere like the TT is just how much it can be relied upon. I mean for roads/track to an extent if it decides to fail we're likely to notice it at much saner speeds and adjust accordingly, but if you're a road racer where you're living each metre of the course on the very edge feel/confidence from the last lap play a huge part in how you attack it for the next time round..... Well what if the reliance is there but the adjuster hasn't adjusted? Scary shit at those speeds and dare I say it enough to throw you off? Don't get me wrong, semi active suspension on bikes is a brilliant thing and I love it, but is it a part that could fail and cause a serious miscalculation of entry speed?
Sure thing. I'll be there about 10.00. That's the plan anyhow, I think the workshop is open til 12.00. Gonna make a weekend of it with a tour of Winchester (pubs)...
Fail safe will always be built in, and pretty quick you'd know I rexkon. Plus being a base setting must be there somewhere in case, you make that base setting kinda what it would be with normal suspension Thats not technical knowledge btw, its simple common sense, I know feck all
