I would like the powers that be to add 'idiots who join motorways at 40mph' onto this list. It won't be these assholes who get rear ended by the lorry, it will be one of the many cars lined up behind them on the slip road that will end up with 'Leyland Daf' stamped on their rear windscreen

 

I'm loathe to stereotype in general, but in my considered experience, Citroen Picasso drivers are guilty of just about every bad driving technique imaginable.

Lane hogging and tailgating on-the-spot fines in force.

 

99% of all the stuff that is in the "new approach to traffic policing" would appear to be already covered by "without due care and attention". The fact remains, there can be as many new laws as you like, but without actual traffic police out on the roads the laws will not get enforced...

 

Whilst that is true, with the advent of On-The Spot fines for offences which were previously court appearance jobs ... the police will now be able to afford all the traffic cops they like :wink:

On a three-lane dual carriageway, you may use the middle lane or the right-hand lane to overtake but return to the middle and then the left-hand lane when it is safe.


So if you can't get into the left hand lane because there is too much traffic, I reckon there's a good chance you will get a ticket.

I got pulled over yesterday morning (04:40) in my car by a marked police car in Central London for exceeding the speed limit by......5mph. Yep, 5mph and he couldn't have been more condescending if he tried, claiming it was a figurative slap in the face to him and police force. The speed at which he came up behind be without blues and two on, was almost reckless :tongue: Im all for new powers to stop dangerous driving, but come on man, at least tell me your stopping more to make sure a) the car is mine b) im not drunk/high c) ive got a body in the boot. Dont play the speeding card, thats just weak

 

Did you get a ticket?... I always find its the young coppers that are condescending. It's always the kids who were bullied at school who become coppers!
