Did you read page 18 of this paper? The statement you posted is one of several subjective opinions the researcher chose as examples of the ongoing debate between which word is correct. While he also includes objective history and some data, in the end there still isn't a final determination as to which word is "right" as it is still evolving. Research papers are always fun to read. My son does psychological research and tells me about conferences he goes to. He has good stories about how they rip each other's research projects apart. By the way, my son was at a conference in Italy this past March. He rented a Moto Guzzi, wanted to get a Ducati but was told they break down too often so they didn't have them for rent. Haha!
