Hm, maybe not injectors then. They won't go bad on the same time. Get the cable so you can check for codes. Only error i can think of besides fuelpump affecting both cylinders is electric.
Had it plugged in at my regular mechanics and no codes, hoping when I get it on the dyno in a few weeks they will be able to find the issue.
could be, temp seems correct on the dash though and fans kick it at 103 as normal. Bike starts and ticks over perfectly
No its been removed as has a full Termi system, the bikes been running perfectly for the last 11 months and haven't done anything other than normal servicing. Few weeks back just started playing up on a ride out
Does it have a lambda sensor that could be throwing the fuel mixture? Sorry for my lack and Knowledge and Apols if you’ve already ruled this put!
It does have a lamba sensor, my mechanic doesn't think its that but hopefully it will show up on the dyno in a few weeks when im booked in
Im wondering if its worth me fitting the standard ecu i have thats never been used to rule out the DP one being faulty? I have no idea how the bike will run with a full Termi system and standard ecu though, I do also have the standard exhaust system but looks a mission of a job to swap it all over. Other thing perhaps I could unplug the lambda sensor to see if it runs better to rule that out? Its 2 weeks before its heading to my local dyno specialist BSD so just looking at things I can try in the mean time, but i'm no mechanic so need to be easy stuff... Had plugs, coils, fuel pump/fan relays, fuel filter..
If you have a lambda sensor then you cannot have the full system fitted. Do you also still have the EXBV in the exhaust?
It should be the full system, I have the bill from when the bike was new with it included as an extra, I have a full set of unused standard pipes and end cans in a Ducati box along with an original ecu and the EXBV, theres a DP ecu fitted in the bike. This is in the lower pipework sort of below the rear shock, I thought it was a lambda sensor. Im sure I read somewhere that the DP ecu still needs a lambda sensor but im probably wrong.
This is with the standard ecu fitted, the start up message is now missing DB3 what ever that means. bike starts with it but has check engine light Also this is the race ecu thats fitted to the bike and the serial number seems to be correct for a DP one
Just when you think you have Ducati sussed they throw another spanner in the works. The start up message you are getting ending B3D is for the EVO full system where the Lambdas have been retained (https://www.ducati.org/threads/848-evo-termi-ecu-welcome-message.38529/) Why the Lambdas are retained on a full system, I do not know. The normal startup message for the EVO with the full system is 848 EVO RACING and the ECU has both the EXBV and Lambdas disabled. A possible solution may be to flash your ECU to full system map with no Lambdas and this will allow the Lambdas to be removed and blanked off. You don’t have other things not normally seen on EVOs like traction control or quick shifter? Ducati upped the equipment level on the 848/1198 when the Panigale was launched in order to move older bikes.
Yep nothing straight forward with a Ducati lol, its booked for a dyno in a few weeks and I'll be getting them to flash it and remove the lambdas, hopefully that will cure my issues, what ever the problem is its only effecting things below 6k
Update So took it to BSD today (Dyno place) I just about got the bike there as was being a total nightmare at low speed, surging bogging and cutting out constantly. Got it on the dyno and straightaway they could see the problem was the TPS causing it to over fuel a low speeds/revs, they have ordered a new one and hopefully be sorted end of week or early next week also having it custom mapped. Hopefully I will get to have my bike back soon....
New TPS fitted and a re-map at BSD and she's running like a dream with 127bhp at the rear wheel and 62 torque (no idea what they run at standard 848 evo full Termi system)? Anyway fingers crossed its now sorted
