1199 misting dash

  1. My 848 evo is only 6 months old so I assume has the mk3 clock as it's got the new back light. Mine was misted up down the right hand side on Saturday. Kind of annoying but have had it happen on all my bikes I think!

  2. Took to ducati garage at lunch time, they took photo of cracked screen and are emailing ducati... Should know more by end of week.

  3. My 1198 was misted up when i took her for a spin on Saturday. Shes not been near water. Ill have to take it apart and get rid of it.

  4. im going to duc leeds shortly I will ask the same question ,does this give u a get out of jail card for speeding ,I couldn't see my dash and ducati refused to replace it ?

  5. My local dealer albeit 130 miles away Ducati Glasgow have been spot on with the dash problems and will replace it under warranty but this will raise the problem of zero miles and service light. I really can't understand why the mileage is not stored on the bikes ECU, my mates Volvo had a faulty dash and when it was replaced it had stored the mileage and when the vehicle was hooked up to the computer it down loaded the exact miles the car had done WHY?

  6. Don't worry, just make sure you get some serious riding in this summer to get those miles back up to where they were. You can just call them 'free miles'. :upyeah:

  7. See if you can get one of those tea bag looking things that you get in a shoe box etc inside the dash, read somewhere that people had done this on older models and it worked.

  8. You mean the silicon bags that are for absorbing moisture.

  9. Yes that's them, Silca bags.

  10. That would be worth a consideration if I still have the bike when the warranty has expired.

  11. This is what my mist turned into... And this was when I was riding, misty one minute, cracked the next.. It's inside the glass, you cannot feel if you rub your finger along glass. New dash to be fitted this week, hopefully.... image.jpg

  12. Thats very bad - warranty job without a doubt

  13. Don't waste your time with Silica Gel as it didn't make a dent in it for me even with several bags. Silica Gel has to be re dried once it has absorbed moisture also because it soaks up the moisture rather than preventing it.

Anti fog is the only semi permanent fix I have found and will last a year ish maybe less if you ride all winter in the wet and cold.

  14. Dragged mine out today and YEP. 512miles/9months old Dash misted up about 90% in the centre part of the display ;(

Ran it for 10 min and slightly cleared up, but not much.

  18. Looks much better ;) Do they just fit it or does it need seting up/programming? Reason I ask is my Cat D isnt ridable so can't take it to shop. Would be better for me to be able to take mine back and pickup a new one under warranty.

  19. They fitted, don't no about programming. However the bike has lost all the suspension settings. Also bike will need service light reset at 625 miles, also it thinks it's new bike as the rev counter is in amber above 6000rpm...

  20. I'm amazed they can't alter the mileage through there program to make it match up to the old dash.
