When I drove through Poynton last Monday I saw, for the first time in years, two policemen hiding in the bushes with a speed camera. Very sneaky indeed. Is this a new policy now?
whilst people are driving riding around blindfolded, they could paint the vans bright green and blue, stick a load of camera stickers over it put a yellow flashing light on the top and still not be seen, why would they need to "hide" in a bush....
Exactly the same thing in Handforth, random position, standing behind a bush. I’ve never seen any presence before in Wilmslow or surrounding areas. The area is built up with a lot off traffic, but probably enough pace to be done @ 36mph in a 30 zone.
I remember many years ago at the nw200 seeing a bike parked up with cardboard on the back with the number in pencil. I guess he would say if stopped he lost his plate and had to improvise to get home as legal as he could.
http://highwaysindustry.com/police-can-hide-to-catch-you-speeding/ They can hide if they like.. Crime prevention through high profile police presence is not as important as revenue increases
I dont believe they would be cops or even their civvy safety road monkeys based on that they will have a policy on where and how to locate a speed camera site that you could challenge. I know, a there isn't enough cops to do all the other shit going on so they wouldn't be deployed for this. b the camera equipment isn't a standard issue around departments anymore even their traffic cops i doubt would have access to a mobile camera as they have a dedicated department, safer roads team. c As there is a dedicated department they will have a protocol for the use of cameras to eleviate any of the loop hole defence excuse shit that goes on. d that policy is available for anyone to read see. e i bet they also advertise in the local papers where the speed enforcement is going to be. my money is on they were local people dressed up in reflective coats doing their community spirit send you a pissy letter you were caught speeding in our village if that is what they were doing.
They were definitely police. It had the word "Police" on their caps. So I don't even think they were plastic cops.
I pulled up in the surgery car park where I spotted my shooter, had police on his cap, on his back & plastered all over his 3 series.
im referring to el t story... you should of took a picture then and complained.... there is official blurb that stopped all that years ago...
kind of developed out of all the loophole stuff that went on. All sites are(read should be) visited measured photographed evidenced blah blah, they dont just drop anywhere any more..
