that's the whole idea lol. they ended up touching the ohlins spring so had to re make, ahyhows the new ones are more visable but still not to bad. will take pic.
photos of exhaust hanger, made from 8 or 10mm s/steel tig welded to a 10mm nut on one end and the original exhaust bracket at exhaust end. and I fitted a cat as well
Those are deeply fabulous, did you make them yourself? I take it those are Keihans they holding up too.
yep keihans and with the db killers fitted and even then its so loud, the wasp puk system and exhaust mean when you crack open the throttle it rattles your eardrums ( induction roar ) in fact this is the first bike iv worn ear plugs on. the s/ steel hangers were I think 8mm bar which I bent myself on my bending m/c ( plumber ) and a mate then tig welded them to the original exhaust mounts. the other frame end terminates in a s/s 10mm nut tig welded to the bar and a 10mm countersunk bolt through the hole behind the shock mount . I might powder coat them so they are even better hidden????? the bike came with a ton of extras ( not cheap but everything I wanted ) wasp puk, kineo wheels, ohlins shocks,st4s forks rebuilt by ktec and nitride coated,dp dry slipper clutch sato rearsets, ncr fuel cap,ncr magnesium side cases, ncr chain guard, dp clutch slave, full keihan system, rizoma mirrors, chain conversion 15/41,race ecu, alloy frame plugs, alloy fluid covers, asv levers, bar ends, lots of titanium bolts,a ducati cover, and iv fitted the tail tidy.bought with about 1800 miles but with about 2800 now lol,a lovely bike to ride and a testimony to ukducsrus the previous owner. was out yesterday and was able to sit with an r1 and even felt I could have passed on the bends.im enjoying this more than the two 1098,s I owned and prob as much as the sp1 or the rc30. a keeper.
to be honest not really lol,its a real pain in the arse.you really need the bike there to make sure you have the correct angle etc. but its not rocket science,if you found a local black smith or metal worker they shold be able to do it. but just remember not to weld anything on while on the bike in case you blow the ecu.
