MCE's head office is about 2 miles from me, if they get their staff from around this area then i'm not surprised at the problems you get over the phone, most family tree's are a straight line around here.
Thankfully now dumped MCE. I am with bikesure now. Now the farce of obtaining my proof of no claims from MCE begins. They keep you on the phone as long as possible as its a premium line. Still waiting for the proof of no claims and its via email so cannot be lost in the post. I noticed all the rave reviews on the MCE website, shame I cannot leave my comments.
Twice now attempted to obtain proof of my no claims from MCE with no joy. I did expect this though. I will have to keep ringing on the premium rate phone number, listen to the automatic sales patter and then be told its on its way via email again. Maybe they are attempting to get the £400 they have lost in insurance fees via the premium rate phone calls I keep making? At this moment in time I am considering a drive down there with a gallon of 4 star and a box of swan vestas.
Thanks stevebu916, just rang them again. They tell me their emails take 48 hours to come through now I will ring my new insurer and let them have a go at it.
I won't go into the problems I had with them again,it's toooooo painfull, but when I took my business elsewhere, the new company laughed when they found out Mce was the previous insurer, and did not insist on proof of no claims as they knew they would not get it from Mce. FOR THE LAST TIME FORUM MEMBERS, STAY WELL CLEAR OF MCE!!
Now in 3rd year with same insurer,I have full no claims docs from them, and when I re insure with them they have emailed me the policy before I have finished the phone call, and never any errors on their paperwork, also very nice and efficient on the phone, call back when they say they will etc etc.
While I am happy with ebike and was happy with Ducati insurance (till I got burned) I never trusted any insurance company. They only work in their own industry intress. No surprise there.
just getting quote from DI , and they refusing to include commuting on my Pani policy . anyone else had that problem?
I do know of a few friends who have not been able to get commuting insurance, unless it was rolled into a multi vehicle with home insurance etc policy covering a few million quids worth . Also is dependant on what line of work you are in, my mates were in the music biz etc,and that seems to be a problem. Even though it was classical music, not exactly Glastonbury ,
Aha, no longer have sky or virgin etc,so only see moto Gp on a friggin Monday night now,and as MCE sponsor BSB I would turn the TV off anyway.
