  6. Are we talking about a bike to put on display or a bike to ride ? I only ask because I think they have very different criteria. I’d probably buy an 888 to display but buy a 1098R or Desmocedici D16RR to ride. Andy

  8. Can't see any mention of 750 Greenframe, 250 singles, 1977 900ss, 750 sport, 750ss etc. etc. All highly collectible.

  9. Yeah, what's the answer? Anbody worked it out?

  10. first generation 900ss because what you paid back then and what they are now:thinkingface:

  11. But that's financial appreciation, not collectability.

  12. Question'take your point but is that not the real reason why people collect them in the first place:thinkingface:

  13. Not me, I buy what I like. I do however try to do it at the right time in the market place. :upyeah:

  14. Sorry all, I missed the last 15 years bit.
Are there any bikes in that timeframe that are that bandied around term "iconic", like say the 916, even the 851, the first twins of the 1970's, any street single? So many good bikes in the last 15 years, but methinks none so collectible as those.

  15. It changed on post #62 :eyes:

  16. Surely it has to be something available to the masses, even if it is pricey. Saying Stoner's championship winning bike isn't realistic.

Something mass produced that was available to buy from a dealer, maybe a ltd edition if that's what gets your vote.
