  1. I think from a vehicle manufacturers point of view a rechargeable battery makes sense, just not in the whole scheme of things. There is a whole pile of infrastructure and support services that don't seem to have been thought through (unless they just don't care or are merely trying to meet pollution targets). The daft thing is that it's about the same amount of engineering change to build hydrogen vehicles and arguably existing fuel providers would be in a good position to be able to offer hydrogen (a bit like offering LPG a while back...) and be able to make a sensible commercial proposition.
I suspect that until governments legislate to ensure that fuel providers provide charging points in every outlet and hydrogen then fuel providers won't bother as they are on very slim margins already.

  2. I reckon till we have no more black sludge to extract from mother earth we will have dirty fuels money is the driving factor behind everything !

  3. My last car was a hybrid lexus which was great, no plugging in nonsense, from that platform the next obvious step for me would be hydrogen fuel cell. As you say the infrastructure to support purely electric seems to be the complete opposite of the objective (unless it's labouring jobs for everybody erecting pylons and building power stations)

  4. Black sludge will be available for a very long time - nuclear would appear to be the only thing more economical but - nuclear never floated the public's boat

  7. I’d have one ( getting OAP So might be better) but seeing as my electric lawnmower lead seems to tie itself in knots however well I coil it up And put it away I’d be rather concerned about going on a journey with an E bike as the extension lead behind is bound to get caught up somewhere along the way and when you arrive you’ve to call someone to unplug it for you and then wind it up to be able to plug it in again for the return trip!!!!! 8. Reminds me of a true story when I was somewhat younger, one of the local nutters 'psycho Eric' or 'Sykes' decide to 'supercharge' his moped (can't remember if it was a FS1E or SS). he stuck his mother's hair dryer on the airbox and attached it to a long extension, proceeded to drag race it down the road until the cable whipped out. He swore it was noticeably faster with the hair dryer adding significant boost :D

  18. These Moto E bikes don’t seem to have a regular gearbox that I can see so I’d like to see how it actually works I mean they are producing amazing torque right from the outset .. x

  19. I haven't investigated this, but do electric bike have a gearbox? I know with internal combustion the engine has quite a limited speed range to work in, hence the need for a gearbox, but leccy?

  20. There a scooter ! Motorcycle,s have gears o_O
