Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by ibgarrow, Oct 17, 2022.

  1. I'd love an old guzzi if i had the space. I think its @Old Jock who has a lovely Magni one which I covet. I asked if he'd consider leaving me it in his will, but I'd prob die before him with my luck.

  2. Hope not @bootsam and I haven't forgotten although I'm not on here much these days as I flogged the 1098 and got an BMW R9T (for you Old Jock zee fun is ovar) bit safer for an old man

Talking of Guzzis and very much off topic have you seen this Magni Australia getting the treatment from Lusso Veloce?

I don't know the small blocks at all, but Guzzis are a breeze to work on, utitlizing "Stone Axe" technology compared to Ducatis

  3. 3 X down in Hampshire used to do those Magni Australias Man I loved those things I literally sat on every one of them when I was a youngster... I preferred these to the DUKEs before I knew better ;-)

  4. Actual fire up at around 2 mins in.

  5. Bet your neighbors love you... slightly mad... but brilliant at the same time.

  6. Follow up to all those helpful folk on here who’ve assisted me with my “third-bike-queries”
My central heating boiler has given up the ghost, so my savings pot is going on it’s replacement, instead.

  7. I'm afraid that isn't me... just a vid I bumped into on YouTube that I thought others would appreciate.

Nobody else spends a couple of hours listening to engine start ups? Oh, it's only me then...

  8. Ah right... Fair enough. I've seen this done with Aero engines.. and it's impressive to say the least. if Noisy... :)

So er, yeah another engine startup fan here too...

  9. Good man! have you seen that mad German who fires up an old Russian radial WW2 plane engine ? It's just fantastic. And what tickles me is the audience who always applaud after the engine is shut down. There's a quite magnificent Messerschmidt V12 running as well...

I'll not link 'em here for fear of a big thread swerve.

  10. Swerve them to a new thread please!

  11. Might have seen them... I seem to get rabbit-holed onto American Diesel motors normally. Or Locomotive startups... Strange how the algorithm works. The Aero ones I've seen were live, either at Brooklands or other shows. There's a Napier engine on a testbed, with a cut-down prop. That thing is Magnificent
