Motocorse........legendary levels of laziness and apathy

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Argonaut, Feb 18, 2014.

  1. Good responses guys.

Having spoken to a mate of mine who designs websites, he said it wouldn't be difficult at all to add the wording "Out of stock" under the item description, or words to that effect to make anyone think twice about pressing the "add to cart" button.

My main point was that for them to advertise them as available for sale, allow me to purchase them etc and then announce they can't be arsed/not efficient to just make one set etc, isn't on.

Had they shown on the website that they weren't in stock, or were subject to more orders being fulfilled, i'd have looked elsewhere.

But if thats how they want to run their business, then so be it. Good luck to them.

"Good business is where you find it"........apparently that doesn't translate into Italian very well.

  2. I've been nothing but honest - So no, i won't delete my thread/post.

Unwarranted? I don't think so, i've posted the facts, i've given my opinion and i stand by my comments.

Motocorse advertised something......thats an offer. I've accepted, thats the basis of a legally binding contract in law (guess what i do for a living), but due to mitigating circumstances they can't now fulfill that order.......maybe they shouldn't have offered it in the first place?

  3. But they can. You're just too impatient to wait.

  4. Nope, they've basically said they aren't interested "Please buy something else".......not, "maybe you'd like to wait for us to make a set?" or words to that effect.

  5. As suggested, that may just be a language issue. They will make them if you're prepared to wait.

  6. Oh i really do want those rearsets, but on the invoice for the other item i've bought, they wouldn't even add the rearsets so i could at least place my order for them - They simply don't want to know, and trust me, i've asked the question (in Italian and English).

Morale of the story - Probably best to ask if a specific item is in stock or they can get hold of it in a reasonable timeframe. I'll certainly be asking from now on.

  7. All websites should tell you whether an item is in stock or not when searching. There is nothing that is more annoying than spending hours chosing an item then filling out the checkout details only to be told after that it's out of stock. I've bought a few things from Moto Corse and generally their service has been very good.

  8. Ask him how many he would need to make for it to be viable, then order that amount. Fit a set, keep a set for spares and sell the rest...

  9. Smart but not too smart if you want your money elsewhere , or quite simply you may not have enough money available just to get your grubby mitts on some Eyetie's spangled rearsets .

  10. There are two options here: Either wait, or buy something else.

Wow, that was easier to solve than I expected:eek:

  11. In business you HAVE to keep the customer happy. Look how much this 1 little issue is affecting potential customers because you will remember this thread when you see their parts for sale in future.
As well as my afore mentioned dealing with the excellent Akrapovic, I also had an issue with Harris. Ordered a slipper clucth for my R1 only for it not to fit. A phone call later established they'd sent the wrong one and my model was still under development, but if i do still want one I could have 20% off when they're available. Another A+ for customer service. They turned a dissapointment into plus for the punter and that's the key to good business in my book.
The way you comunicate with customers is key to this whole issue. Imagine 2 shops, 1 where you walk in and are asked, how may i help you, the other just says, what do you want? Both are trying to get the same information, but I know where I'd spend my money.

  12. Great, if you both speak the same language.

Would you let a grammatical error get between you and the part you want..?

  13. Like when you walk in to a Chinky look at the menu and he says "you Prick " but he meant to say" you pick "

  14. You plick...

  15. Yeah but it sounds like prick

  16. Not wanting to state the bleeding obvious but there isn't a "r" or "l" in pick

  17. I've got a haddock now.

  18. You callin' me a pick..?

  19. I think he's calling you a prillock

  20. I had a Chinese plumber around the other day, I noticed he was 'dry' soldering some fittings so I asked him what he used for flux?

    He said "Plix you irriot"...
