He also left the door open a few times, when in same circumstances he would have slammed in shut in moto 2 Thinking maturity, and knows they are probably looking for a reason to dock him points, than anything else
I think you are wrong. He wouldn't have won by a couple of yards if he could have won by a straight. He almost lost it on a couple of occasions - these guys really are on the edge. Even practice showed that whilst he was the fastest, he wasn't the fastest by much. It was a great race in that for the first time this season, someone has been able to give MM a race. Hopefully it will continue. Pedders may be doomed but he has just had surgery so the jury is out. Finally Jorge was faster than Rossi - that's going to be interesting in future races. Iannone continues to prove he is a class act, whereas I'm not sure that Cal is ever going to gel on the Ducati. But it's only going to be really interesting if it reverts to a sort of Schwanz, Rainey, Doohan, Gardner, Lawson style battle when you never knew who was going to win. Sadly, there hasn't been much of that for a couple of decades.
It's a shame Rossi couldn't tag onto the leaders, he was matching Jorge's lap times, if he'd been a bit closer he'd be very hard to bet against at Mugello.
Watched M2 and M3 on catch up today. M3 WOW! M2 pretty good too until last few laps. MGP I watched highlights only, about 8 mins, and looked action packed at the front
The moto3 race was nailbiting, brilliant riding from all involved. All 3 races were well worth watching.
What was a tad disappointing was that when Jorge and Marc started dicing, their lap times inevitably suffered, but Rossi was unable to take advantage of this and catch up. Worn out tyres maybe. As you say, he had been matching the lap times, so I was sort of expecting a ménage à trois at the end.
You have to take your hat off to Lorenzo. He must know for sure that the title is already over, but he's not gonna let Marquez stroll away with it. Respect is due.
surely the rest of this year for Yamaha is testing to get ready for next year and disruption, just in case
Isn't the control ecu coming into play next year? If so Yamaha may be at some advantage over Honda. The factories, you remember, refused to have anything to do with Dorna's ecu, leaving it to the lower order to develop it. But in that lower order of course, is Tech3...It's the same reason why Suzuki stalled their comeback til 2015.
was a decent race for a change ..oh dear cal he looking at the sack after this season ..Dovi constantly better than him
Paul Could you provide a link to the catch up thing please. I watched the MotoGP highlights on ITV4, but haven't seen the Moto3 or Moto 2 race.
I was there All I can say is Moto3 is brilliant , Moto2 boring, MotoGP was edge of the seat and the fans , the noise , the atmosphere, the ride to the track through the windy tuscan roads awesome !!!! These are my pics that sum it up . Had a great time can't wait for next year!
who knows, remember start of last season it was all about Lorenzo vs Pedrosa then they both got badly hurt and it all changed in MM favour Lorenzo is a petulant twat often, but his steel and skill is really awesome to watch imho
Its good to see the old Lorenzo coming back, the impetuous, often crashing, aggressive git who 'just did it' rather than moan about others doing it to him (remember his moaning about Simo?!) The impression is MM loves to give it and expects to get it, whereas Lory is all about the giving, and squeals like a pig when he gets its Or so it says in Vale's unauthorised biography lol
What does he call you for short..? . . . Anyway, Jorge was at full stretch, but Rossi matched him lap for lap pretty much. You can safely say that is all the Yamaha has to give. I'm tempted to say that Rossi should be looking at his pension book. But the fact is he did match Jorge's times, even when Jorge was a free agent at the front. Stick Rossi a second closer to the front pair...we all know what Rossi's like in a dice, Lorenzo's no wallflower either, and Marquez ain't a stranger to a dice. What was a cracking race could have been an all-time classic but for one second...
