Motogp Refund

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Mark9, Aug 28, 2018.

  1. Wouldn't there be an insurance to cover losses to Silverstone due to the track resurfacing?

  2. If there is a payout ticket prices go up.

  3. If there is, it would be liability one through Contract and they’d have to sue their provider to get it. Couple of years maybe...

  4. I would have thought the supplier would have had Professional Liability insurance?
    Still there are other issues....

There are a number of possibilities as to how they ended up here.
    1. Silverstone did not issue an appropriate works specification to the bidders/supplier (including appropriate civil engineering consultancy feeding into the brief), or selected a duff supplier on cost basis.
    2. The supplier did not perform the works correctly.
    3. FIM inspection and homologation were not carried out in correct amount of detail.

I suspect the blame will land on whoever can't afford the best/sharkiest lawyers, and they'll be the ones out of pocket.

  5. Got the same today.

  6. Has anyone reported the possibility of dispute over non delivery of ‘goods’ to their credit card provider yet?

Maybe a reasonable step in the event they don’t refund.

    Cheers

  7. So if you had a weekend ticket, do they part refund? How’s that going to work? My money would be a bsb roaring ticket the best you’ll get. They don’t get many for BSB anyway so not like they will lose much revenue

  8. Straigjtforward point well made. :upyeah:

  9. Agreed. I bet there's some small print though. There's always small print.

  10. I paid for the weekend, plus camping... to watch the racing. I camped for no other reason than the convenience at which I could watch said racing.

Bet I don’t get squat back though.

  11. I have heard nothing so far... no "holding mail". I bought from Silverstone online, so they have my details.

  12. A group of us all paid a mate and he booked through Silverstone. We don’t think we’ll get anything back but he’s just booked a holiday so we won’t know for a while :eyes:

  13. Emailed Silverstone this morning via the "Contact Us" link, and they have sent me an acknowledgement:

"We will be sending more information out in the next few days, I have logged your request."

I saw on the webpage that came up after I submitted the contact request, that the 2019 MotoGP pre-sale has been delayed until Sept 4th....

  14. Yeah, and how did he afford that holiday ..... :p

  18. Sio deadline entirely ,issued, straw pole of 50% at least not had any comms, and waiting for the insurer to pay out BEFORE they decide IF they will do anything.
