Motogp / Wsbk Results And The Forum...

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Monners, Apr 20, 2015.

  1. I agree - I would never expect you to change the front page in any way, I was talking about a thread started within the Forum area.

  2. These threads are auto published into the forum from the homepage.

If you ignore the Homepage Articles forum then you'll never see them in new posts feed.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. The obvious thing is to avoid showing the result in the article headline. It'll blunt the impact a bit, though.

For my part; I've only just got BT Sport, so prior to this season I've been in the same boat as others here. But I know the race is on Sunday, and I know if Ducati do well it's gonna be shouted about a bit on here. I just accept it. There are starving kids in Africa ferchrissakes, if you wanna moan, ring Bob Geldof.

  4. Sensible grown up request treated in the usual childish manner (apart from Rb thx Rob)

Seen it all before. Start of the end. Make he most of the forum while you can.

Black kettles in greenhouses come to mind, if someone else has even a petty thing to get off their chest I've made a point of never posting about it. But you probably wouldn't notice that would you?

  7. there are many ( I am sure ) both ducati fans and race fans who cannot watch it until Tuesday evening ( like myself ), whither because of work restrictions or social demands or whatever who have a hard enough time avoiding all news and results without a forum which is supposed to be for ducati and race fans spoiling it for us,,, is it really so difficult to restrain your excitement to allow others to enjoy the race,,, all that is needed is a " spoiler " in the topic headline,,, please

  9. I have to agree - PLEASE don't give anything about the result away in the title, and please make sure that it includes the word SPOILER.

  10. Who won?

  11. Cracking feature, just used for Speakers Corner... Nice one... thank you

  13. I didn't quite realise how sensitive a subject this was. I think it's perfectly reasonable request to put 'spoiler' in the thread title and not state the results within the forum. I still think the title page should have the latest news as it makes the site authoritive and it acts as a magnet to the forum for more Ducati fans. I'm sure there will be new members posting the results and accidently getting a pasting but thats not the end of the world once in a while.

  14. Seems Rob has a sensible solution anyway. I can't get it to work, but doesn't make it less sensible lol

In fact it may have been @Weeksy rantings in years gone by that educated me into spoiler title use [emoji6]

  15. I wouldn't mind if it spoiled the race, but it doesn't. I really couldn't care less if I know the result first, as long as I get to see the race.

  16. Of course it does! Why bother watching if you always know the result in advance?!

  17. I was just trying to be nice...

  18. How can you say that , sure who wins is of some importance , tho a lot more important to the competitors than it is to the viewers , i watch to see the riding / driving , to see some close racing , to see the bikes etc ,, to see marquez sliding it into that tight right hander ( in a way that ari vattenen would have been proud of ) until he had no rear tyre left , to watch rossi smoothly and gently wind him in and take him , to watch crashalot actually stay on his bike even if he did ruin the race for almost everybody else , to see the ducatis and the super style of bradley finishing a creditable 6th , and the beautifully turned out suzuki . , who won ? , oh rossi , great i love him !!!

  19. simple

I have an opinion, I sit in front of my iPad, I type and press Post Reply

from now on I shall be PM'ing everyone who says its not an issue with regular updates during the races and the results as soon as the riders cross the line. As its not important, I'm sure you will thank me profusely for this free service :upyeah:
