Now that’s interesting ! Why would you pay taxes if you owned it for years before? You should have been able to ship it over just like your sofa or TV, shouldn’t you? When I moved to and back from the US, I never paid any taxes on my bikes and cars.
I spent the previous 3 years in Portugal so the usual Brexit rules didn't apply. Total nightmare but hopefully almost sorted.
