950 Multi Lowering

  1. Have your weight on the o/s??? How do you work that one out bud? Like most other peeps I get on/off from the n/s and as I have to climb onto my bike, all my weight goes on the n/s peg as I get on or off.
Anyway, as I mentioned, dropping the forks by 1cm has helped me massively and love the handling too, much more positive. I was expecting some instability at speed but feels fine.

  2. Not much choice bud unless I buy a cruiser which I really don't like. My issue is lack of movement and a dodgy leg. Not ready to quit bikes yet even if I can't enjoy the sort of bikes I'd prefer.

  3. And it amuses mates getting on and off, so why change ?! :upyeah:

  4. Well, standing on the nearside (left) of my bike with it on the side stand I would open up the bars to bring the bike down a bit (left grip pushed away from me, right grip pulled towards me and wheel pointing right) and swing my right leg over the seat, putting my foot firmly on the offside (right) foot rest and covering the rear brake. Then as I straighten the bars, with weight on the offside (right) foot rest and my nearside (left) foot planted on the floor I can raise the bike up straight, with my left bumcheek hanging a bit off the left side of the seat. Bike can't roll away as I've got the brake covered with my hand and foot and then I can shuffle over to the right and swap feet while I kick up the stand and knock it into first, then swap feet back so I'm planted on the ground with my left foot, right foot over the brake pedal and ready for the off. :)

  5. Do you have to pat your tummy and rub your head while doing all this shit ?? I mean...really ??

  6. It's all fluid and a couple of second's worth of movement in the real world, just sounds long-winded when you explain it written out. :D

  7. TBH no idea how you do that.

I also turn bars, swing leg over, prepare to heave bike off stand with left leg push and upper body weight move, front brake fully on, bike off stand then hop over the seat a little for right foot on the floor the other side. Then normally it's struggle to get the stand up.

Alsways have the engine on (so skyhook is working) and normally set to urban so fully soft.

  16. Back in the day when men were men and big twin motorbikes had kickstarters which required a beefy boot - how did you halflings get on then? And now that everything has an electric foot (even motoX bikes!) what have you got to complain about?

  17. Was still at dance school then.
