1000 Multistrada 1100 (2008) Centre Stand Grounding.

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Analog Dave, May 1, 2018.

  1. Hi Dave,
Thanks for your quick response and foto. (nice and clean bike!)
It apears to me that ducati made the center stand only in 2003/2004, it is documented in the manuals in those years. Yours is OEM.
The stand is very hard to find. I might try the stand from a ST 2, the bracket fitting is almost the same, but I will have to replace the collector exhaust part which is underneath.
If possible I would like a picture from the bracket which is fitted to the engine.
I will now post a little introduction, El Toro was dissapointed I did notright away...;)
    Have a nice day,
    Nico.

  2. it's a pity you are not in UK Nico as I have two of these that I don't need now. If you haven't got sorted and happen to visit the UK then please let me know.

  5. I have experienced similarly, but ky suspension is spot on in every aspect. The center stand just takes a lot of ground clearance and thus taking a bit of joy off the bike.
I had made some adjustments though:
Increased ground clearance on fork and shock linkage evenly (use scales for correct weights on front and back wheel)
Reduced thickness of end rubber on exhaust can to raise to height of the stand a bit
Bent the end bars a bit to the inside
Sheared off a lot material on the feet on home roads
So now it’s still not perfect but at least I can ride again in my elderly biker style without throwing sparks on the opponents

    on the other hand

    Raoul
