They have a zero tolerance approach to speeding and set up traps in very sneaky places. The “if you’re doing nothing wrong” line is of course accurate but we all forget ourselves from time to time. It wouldn’t be so bad if the locals were a bit more pleasant. Germany / France and Italy are more loose and more fun. But we all have our preferences.
Got to admit I did forget myself now and again, but never seen any speed traps. Never had any problems with locals either, infact at one of the self service petrol pumps in a small village, my card wouldn't work a guy from house opposite came and helped me, definitely visit again.
Apparently the transfagarasan mountain pass in transylvania, Romania is pretty spectacular, according to my son...
The run from Valencia to Madrid yields some spectacular roads and sights... The hand-on-hip was exasperation that I was scurrying around several hundred metres above a ravine and might die before I could buy her lunch.
This is one of my favourite places, looking down the Furka pass and Grimmsel pass starts to climb on other side of valley, stood there for ages just taking it all in
