I've looked into this and have come to the conclusion that adjusting the original seat will be cheaper and just as effective. My seat tends to push me forwards, it feels like it should be flattened out. While cleaning my bike over the weekend I noticed the first bit of rust, on the bracket holding the rear reflector, no big deal but I realised that the rear end is a bit of a mess, the numberplate assembly is ugly and the rear splash guard is hideous. Is there a tail tidy that addresses this, how much difference does removing the rear splash guard make. Just wondered if anyone has come up with some answers. Its on a 1200s dvt 2017
As has been mentioned before, remove the splashguard and the first wet ride, you and the back of the bike get covered in an unbelievable amount of crap, I found this out through experience.
Agree, if you remove the splashguard, the 1st good wet ride you have your pillion and the back of the bike with be very wet and filthy But I also agree, looks better without it You takes your choice etc etc...
Personally, no. Comments from mates who have had them inserted into their reupholstered seats have reported they are great most of the time, but if you park the bike in full sun they become rather warm and toast your trollies.
I have whipped the splashguard off, looks much better, I'm going to leave the numberplate for now, it may help, I've got a top box on so that may help with the splashing.
I think I may get my original re shaped, we may have to get the cover sewn differently, should be ok.
