Here is my old Muttley too, much more character and you meet some lovely people on the hard shoulder waiting for the AA
3 nights winter commute in sleet, rain and roadsalt. Followed by an hours elbow grease to clean her down.
And how are you applying it? I bought one of those you attach to a hose. Worked great first time then never again!
It's juicy foam from Juicy detailing. The lance I use is similar to the one she sells but not quite. It fits into the jetwash lance. Cheers https://www.juicydetailing.co.uk/washing-drying/snow-foam-lance/snow-foam-and-lance-kit.html
I’ve ordered one today after seeing your pic Do you still sponge her? How long do you let it settle for?
Just give the bike a quick whizz over with the jet wash just to wet it then change the lance for the snowfoam gun which will be prefilled with water and foam solution. Getting the right thickness of foam will be trail and error and personal to each. Then leave it to do it's stuff for about 10-15 mins then rinse off. Yes I still use shampoo but really good stuff like valet pro or juicy but use a cloth not a sponge to clean it. Then rinse it. https://www.juicydetailing.co.uk/wa...urow-all-purpose-microfibre-towel-1-pack.html Dry it then wax it with proper stuff. I'm using Sonax Xtreme synthetic. https://www.sonax.com/Products/Xtreme-Series/(location)/21028-SONAX-XTREME-Protect-Shine-Hybrid-NPT Spray the wax onto a round foam applicator then onto the bike. https://www.juicydetailing.co.uk/polish-correction/applicators/juicy-wax-foam-applicator.html You can use it on the screen, dash etc. Not the seat, tyres (obviously). Leave it a few mins then off with a clean rag The wax is good for a few months but i usually still apply it. Then it will be spanky clean Sounds like ages but doesnt take that long. Chain is Profi Dri Lube. My SF has a 10000 mile chain that has NEVER had or req ANY adjustment ever. PS. I USED JUICY FOR LINKS BUT ANY OTHER MICRO CLOTH OR SPONGE APPLICATOR WILL DO.
Very comprehensive. I use Meguiars Gold Class with a micro fibre mitt. But the foam looked ace, so I’ll use it as a prewash. Using it through winter is entailing an annual ACF50, weekly washes and copious amounts of WD40 chain cleaner, Castrol Chain Lube, FS365 and GT85 for the side stand pivot and suspension adjusters. But it still looks pretty new after every wash. Only the rear sprocket is looking worse for wear. But I’ve just ordered ACF50 grease for that, and the exhaust valve.
Try the Profi it really is good stuff and because it's like a silicone based there is no fling or crap. You will need to make sure chain is raw before putting it on tho https://www.mandp.co.uk/profi-dry-lube-400ml.html
Poorboys stuff is good as well. I have black hole & White diamond glaze for the cars Good shampoo too in a massive bottle the slick & suds http://www.poorboysworld.co.uk/index.shtml Try bilberry wheel cleaner on the wheels if they get bad but dilute it. http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/...MIjZ_ys8Du2AIVw5kbCh0bygfuEAQYASABEgJ-L_D_BwE Dont blame me if you end up with a garage full of stuff now. I could start on fallout remover but we will leave that for now
A bit of preventative maintenance today, ACF50 Grease on the exhaust valve and rear sprocket. I’m a bit worried Road crap will stick to it, so I’ll have a look at the next wash, next week.
