I've finally managed to confirm that I can get the weekend away from work and now the weather looks crap! If it's just a bit damp then sod it, I'll still go but if we're looking at heavy rain all day I'll probably give it a miss.
Same here......latest looks like dry in the morning with rain coming in from the South West later - looks like one for a last minute decision.
Circumstances (ie - my family) have conspired to stop me on Saturday . However this means that Sunday is free and I'm thinking of heading to Brackley for the towns annual bikefest. Anyone else going ??
I ordered Sun We may get away with it up until 1-2pm:

07:00 SW 6 mph to 12 mph 11 C 0 mm 83% 14300 m 1015 mb

10:00 SSW 10 mph to 18 mph 16 C 0 mm 87% 19900 m 1014 mb

13:00 SSW 15 mph to 23 mph 21 C 0 mm 99% 17900 m 1012 mb

XCWeather - Forecast for Benson Will keep an eye on how it develops. May shorten and reduced pace.....
Half the rideout in rain and a long wet trip home for me, heavy showers/rain by 13:00 according to the Met Office...................why not just swap the rideout to Sunday? ;-)
Sorry but I am committed to other things on Sunday. Saturday AM is looking good so for those that make it we'll be wise to leave Benson promptly - 10.30am. Always look on the bright side..... For those travelling a distance I quite understand you calling a rain check on this one
Well I'm home from the rugby (don't ask the score) and the forecast doesn't look too bad so I'm going to set my alarm for 07:30 and see how it goe. If it's just a bit of drizzle or 50:50 chance of rain I'll be there so everyone can laugh at the damage caused my my tank/trailer interface last weekend. Fingers crossed for the morning.
Still dry here in Swindon , 08.26 , rain expected by 1400 hrs - but I'm still doing Brackley tomorrow .
Added incentive! .....it's this local charity event that I'm going for: https://www.facebook.com/events/137279063089695/ ....that said I'm now in two minds as to whether I'm going to do the Ace or the RTTB (Run To The Bun ;-) run on another forum: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=206302723760395328279.0004d7d6a9dc28d9cfc7d&msa=0
Well I rode to Benson, filled up with fuel at the BP station and decided to check my phone. That was the big mistake. Three or four calls later and I was heading out of Benson to go home and try to sort out why things weren't going well at work or risk having to go in myself later in the day. I did have a ride through Benson a couple of times while I waited for a return call but didn't bother stopping because I knew by that point how things were going to end up. I gave a wave to whoever it was riding into Benson on a white Multi as I headed back towards Oxford but that's as far as it got regarding meeting up with everyone.
Thanks again Paul for this run. Great roads, as ever. And the rain held off after all, so dry roads. Result.
