+1....doesn't sound right, best I've heard of to date was just short of £500 and the average seems to be north of £500 - can vary dependent on work done e.g. opening and or closing valve shims done or neither. Only operated with the handlebars full right hand down......I know many early bikes had problems one of the worst not being able to release the steering lock! First replacement was apparently faulty and on installation and first test promptly 'blew' the Dash ECU....queue one dead bike for two weeks waiting on replacement Dash unit! Confession time!! I thought the replacement replacement steering lock was also duff.........after a quick phone call to my Dealer, turned out to be user error! :redfacethankfully I wasn't in rant mode when I phoned my Dealer about the further apparent faulty locking system) Will do thanks Meantime maybe someone can persuade their Dealer to let them have a copy of memo 815? (off the record of course;-) I think Snailspace is right "I have the impression that unless the owner has a complaint matters are left until the bike is returned for a service." .............another secret fix! A decent hi-res photo might be useful;-) ...............anyone else confirm one way or the other?
Andy, I'll let you know in a few weeks as mine is booked in next month for the 15K service and some warranty work. Looks to be worth a 2 hr ride each way. They quoted me £450 (bike not bought from them). I've seen £700-750 a few times. Maybe we'd better start a poll once a number of 15K services have been carried out.
Thanks Ian....... http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f6/15000-m...sts-anything-ask-tips-1770/?highlight=service ;-)
There's no "new" recall i can find. 815 is an old one going back to 2010, It may be that snailspace' bike VIN was checked at service and it flagged up as not being done.
Been into SMC at Sheffield to check mine out today, this is an old recall, mine had already been changed last year by previous owner
