Mv F3 800 Anyone?

  1. Ouch that sucks! It's kind of why I went for the panigale but I can totally understand your point. All I would say is there will be other summers... So get the bike you are going to love.

I guess you are technically correct but I was told when placing the deposit the bike was going to have its 1st service early and hence the reason for the 1st waiting , since then I was told they where waiting for an updated cam chain tensioner authorised by mv under warranty. Need a rethink tomorrow.

  4. I no mate I seriously need to dicide what to do tomoorow, at this moment in time there is not another f3 800 late 2015 bike for sale in the uk with 370 miles on the clock let alone for the price this bike is (10k) .
    I will gather my thoughts and ring the dealer tomorrow .
     
  5. I would say though that the mileage really isn't that critical!... My 899 had done 750 miles when I bought it but I wouldn't have blinked at buying one with twice that if the price and condition was good.

    Have a sleep on it and go from there, is the dealer a MV dealer? Can they steal the part from another bike? (I missed what part its outstanding )

  6. There's a very nice and well looked after F3 800 at Powerslide Motorcycles in Stoke on Trent. It has 4000 miles on it and is mint. It's had all the issues that MV's have, sorted out. I think it's up for £9,500.
    Ed Cosker isn't an official MV dealer. Leicester MV went bust recently and so did Bikers Group, Swadlincote.
     
  7. That's very interesting about ed cosker, he is listed as an mv dealer, I have just looked at the bike from powerslide, there advert is a little odd for the bike :). If you have inside information on this bike and its history drop me a pm please.
     
  8. Can you qualify that statement? He's listed as one, we'll was until the official MV website fell off the face of the Internet a couple of days ago...
     
  9. There is a new Mv official service agent coming to the Midlands. I can't say much yet but they are getting the factory training and tooling as we speak. They were sort of head hunted by MV because of the respect they have in the industry so expect decent service.
     
  10. My only advise make sure you buy from a well established MV dealer that's no too far from you !
     
  11. Ok, the bike was owned by my son. He's selling ( reluctantly ) because of financial reasons. He's getting a new job at Williams and moving out. We've gone from 4 bikes to one in the house ! Any bike sold by either of us leave here immaculate. If you want evidence, pop round and look at mine.
    Anyway, it has been looked after extremely well, serviced at the 600 and 3750 intervals, and run-in properly.
    Problems ? F3's need to have an updated sprag clutch - done.
    Useless back brake - done.
    No other issues and I can confirm that the bike is rather quick.
    Then again, he's a young 'un and I'm an old 'un, so everything is quick for me.
    All work was carried out by official MV dealers.
    Ed Cosker apparently owed MV lots of money, he also couldn't get spares or bikes, so ditched them. There was an announcement by him on Facebook.
    Bikers Group in Swadlincote where I bought my F4 RC, went bust, as did Leicester MV.
    Leicester MV couldn't get bikes, tried to sell Peugeot scooters, Indian and such tripe and closed ' for business reasons '.
    MV's web site has been down for a week.

  13. Spoonz, that's interesting. Although I doubt if any factory training is going on during August and with the apparent state of the finances at Varese and no real positive news forthcoming I can't see any immediate future for MV Agusta without a big shakeup and the deposing of Giovanni Castiglioni as CEO and majority shareholder. Rumours of investment by Polaris have come and gone, AMG are on the fence. Latest is 2 large investors and an Italian Industrialist, Brembo as a major creditor rumoured to be involved, forming a consortium to negotiate some sort of take-over/rescue.

    It's a shame as the product is, in the main, exceptionally good. Brought down by a willingness to invest in R&D beyond what mid term sales on the level that Giovanni Castiglioni was wanting to maintain. The falling out between him and AMG is, in part, based around their desire to increase production to 20,000 units a year whist he is looking at less than half that. They were in this ball-park last year. This year is going to be way less due to limited component supply issues and laying off of most of the workforce. Loans for €15m from Italian banking are reliant on AMGs shareholding not going below 20% (they have a 25% stake currently). A chapter 11 style agreement is now at an end which obligated suppliers continue to do business, though it looks like some were on a go-slow at the very least.

    The fact that their website was taken down earlier this week is a worrying indicator of maybe how bad things really are and maybe a result of the end of the chapter 11. They now have a sort of holding page teaser, looks like it was put together in a hurry, with a different host.

    It's been mentioned to me that this is typical of both the brand, struggling from one investor to another and the way things are done in Italy. However, there is only so much good will that can be extended, given the history of what's occurred both recently and historically with MV since Giovanni's father Claudio was at the helm. I can see the former clinging on in memory of the latter and what's been achieved but I fear the end of his reign is approaching and just hope that the right thing can be done for the company, employees, dealers and owners.

    I would be encouraged by any denial, or evidence from Varese that the above is untrue or not accurate but nothing of the sort has been forthcoming.

    Over the past month or so other UK dealers have been quiet about issues at the MV factory, this is understandable as they try to protect their livelihoods. However I think it is time to speak out to inform our valued customers of our view and future with the MV brand as a leading UK MV solus dealer.
    GC the major share holder and effective current owner of MV proudly boasts of MV the brand and quite rightly too. His vision of the future is to downsize and produce fewer higher spec, higher priced machines. However he happily accepted millions of euros from AMG with the vision of a wider product range, and a sales target over several years of 20000 sales per year. He has taken the money, spent it and now wants them to disappear and he take the reins of this new and improved business. He has his photo taken puffing Cuban cigars in flashy suits, fast cars and a footballers multi million pound salary . However the workforce are watching Jerrmy Kyle on telly at home and no bikes or parts are being produced for their loyal customers.
    He is an egotistical millionaire who if he did care for the brand would have handed the ownership of MV to AMG or another partner in an ordered planned way. Not wait till funds run out and then moan about AMG and then seek another investor whilst filing for liquidation protection . This current situation has damaged the brand massively and all his calls for restructure are not what was planned or promised to AMG when they bought their shareholding. Or promised to dealers who have invested huge money and time with the MV brand we all love.
    So here is where I stand.
    If AMG are not successful owners of MV in the very near future we will NOT be selling MV products or services.
    I personally apologise to all our customers and service clients for all delays in warranty work and service parts not being delivered from the factory.
    We have not received any parts including basics like filters in over 3 weeks now
    Or had any warranty claims approved.
    I apologise to all but hope you our valued customers have always treated you in an open professional manner.
    To this end we are currently negotiating several other dealership opportunities going forward.
    However nothing will make me happier for the MV brand than for an AMG takeover which will hopefully bring this fantastic 70 year old company into sustainable growth profitability and top quality levels of management and customer service which have been lacking in the past.
    We as always will keep you posted on any news as we have it.

  15. Leicester MV had invested in £10,000 worth of warranty parts, so before he closed, it was business as usual.
     
  16. Ed did post some time ago about his possible intention to cease being an MV dealer by the end of this year, it does seem that he's removed that post from FB. He also had something of a wrangle with MV over money from what I heard but it was a ying and yang thing with them also owing him money over warranty claims etc. and refusing to equalise that credit against sales.

    MV recently collected quite a number of bikes from Ed's showroom and warehouse, as they did with other European dealers. These were still owned by MV as, is common in the trade, dealers have a certain time-frame in which to sell these before they have to pay for them. These were apparently shipped to Australia where there is an importer who pays up front for the stock. This was a cash raising exercise by MV as they didn't have stock or production capability to satisfy this demand.

    Ed has been very honest with me as a customer during this process and seems like a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. Quite possibly why he made that FB post that he then thought, with hindsight, best to remove. I do hope that he remains an MV dealer into 2017 but I also understand the frustrations he faces. I have a firm belief that he places the interests of his customers highly. The attention I have received from him and staff only reinforce that view.

    EDIT: Just seen your reply, you managed to find it (still on FB or copied from elsewhere?). That was back in April I believe, he's still an MV dealer as far as I know.

    Full website is also back up, someone has put some 'money in the meter'?

  20. Ok guys, spoke to the dealer today, they are a non franchise dealer ( see my link previous regards bike) the bike is at an approved mv shop awaiting delivery of cam chain adjuster from Italy, authorised parts and labour from mv manufacturers warranty .

    We have agreed on another weeks grace and if the bike is not ready for collection next Saturday I will pull out the deal. There will be no parts arriving into the uk for at least 3 weeks from italy so they are going to try there hardest to locate one from the uk and suck up the minimal cost for the unit.

    Willthepoo I will pm you about your sons bike if my deal falls through as I may well be interested in the bike .
