My 1098 has arrived.

  1. as said above its the led breaking down not scratches.

    I think

  2. It looks like mould to me...

  3. I don't think it's mould. It's black. It's looks like the marking you get if ink was written on paper then rubbed by another bit of paper. Smudge marks even.

If it is the LCD breaking down then is there anything that can be done with it?

  4. No.4 Thor copper mallet does the trick.

  5. I have a spare ecu that says 1098 full sys on a little white sticker

is it best to use that with the 848evo corse se dash/loom/dtc/inj for my project bike, or the 848 one that came with the mentioned parts?

  6. For DTC to work you need an ECU from a bike that had it fitted.

  7. Ok, thanks Chris.

Has the 1098 full sys. one got much monetary value?

  8. They crop up on eBay sub £50 from time to time. Personally, I would keep it in the spares box as it can always be re flashed if you ever have a problem in the future.

  9. Hi, My bikes got slip on Termi's and my bike tuner put "Hello Mark" on my display bloody clown. You can take the glass off the Display but nose cone has to be removed you then remove the screws easy, personally I would not bother more hassle than its worth. My 1098s display is covered in the good ole plastic stress cracks I would rather have your dirty mark lol.

  10. If you venture into reflash/TPS reset world, don't connect the test lead - to the + battery terminal...The ecu no like...:frown:

  11. im sure if you pick up a second hand clock that the display screen could be changed over therefor keeping the memory of your own miles etc ( like changing the screen on a mobile phone ). anyone know ?????

    edit to add

    and also keep your immobiliser.

  12. I take my clocks apart every year to coat with anti fog and they come apart real easy. The longest deal is taking the nose fairing off to gain access

The used clocks on Ebay that are in good condition go for silly money. Ducati uk have some spare fronts (v3 to stop the fogging) but unless it's a warranty issue you won't get one out of them. Tried that.

I'm sure if someone had connections in the plastic trade and could make decent copies you could sell a shed load. I would buy one for a start.

  13. I'd buy one too...
