998 My 998 Story (long)

  1. The ecu is mounted by the battery box on my bike.

  3. I know this is starting up an old post but the engine VIN will tell you what it is.
     
  4. Thanks Simon. I had forgotten about this post. lol I confirmed with the vin and ecu that it is a 998.

    2.5 years later and Ive still got the bike. Last year, I had some serious problems with the oil pressure. Eventually, I could not build any pressure even after trying several different oil pumps, lines, etc. I finally swapped the engine for a 999s engine. It is a fantastic combination.

  5. That’s awesome you’re still enjoying the bike with a 999s engine to boot! My 998 has the engine upgrade kit which I believe is the same cams as the 999s, performance ECU and termi half system and transformed the bike when I had it installed many years ago. Still runs like new with 43k on it.
