I'm guessing they started getting flack from the car drivers and decided to abort when the van driver started his move
I'm not sure I understand the logic of this modification. The bandit/scumbag/score is big enough to relieve you of your bike, then you stop it within 75m. He then comes back gives you a good hiding, takes your fob as well. Then rides off into the sunset. However the technical side is well thought out. Even top of the range caravans are fitted with trackers now, so isn't it time motorcycle manufacturers did the same?
I think its a cruel truth that manufactures sell more bikes/cars/kit due to crime. So why would they want to slow or eradicate it. This seems to be the motive behind why london police are so inept at stemming the flow of stolen motorbikes inside the M25. Let alone finding a jogger who's face must of appeared on lets say 50cctv camera's in central london,...he's still not be located'
Hi the plug is a JST part going under the number 04T-JWPF-VSLE-S, however an unpopulated one of these is fitted into the corresponding socket in GPS accessory loom as means of sealing it off. All you need to do is take the crimped heat shrink off it and use it, you'll just need the crimp pins and the correct crimper, I've loads of pins so if you want some just PM me your details and I'll drop some in the post for you, otherwise you'll have to buy 100!
I see you point, but my reckoning is there's going to be more than one scrote initially but there can only be one riding it away. Hopefully I'll never need it but if that day ever comes at least it's something other than just hoping the tracker doesn't end up in a bush.
Of Course not me.... the Cali Cartel.... tried and tested. I'd never use rivers..... Not when we've loads of easily accessible deep ocean off our coast.
I like the idea, and you've done a good job at making something that is easily "un-done" should you want the bike back as stock. Good work! Any possibility that the "RF killswitch" could be triggered by an external source (gwad knows how many frequencies are being zapped all over the show), or you bump the fob in your jacket or whatever and the bike dies on you when your riding?
Hi, thank you for your kind words, the receiver uses rolling code encryption so hopefully it won't be triggered by errant signals from elsewhere, I haven't suffered from the fob bring accidentally pressed but never say never! All in for less than a tenner so I'm not complaining! Cheers
I think it's an excellent idea - of course there are ways round (his mate's pushing with a foot) but it has a great advantage - the scum will not be expecting it! They threaten and push you off and relax - they have got your Pani! Off they go then *splat* - engine dies - they frantically try to start getting more flustered - it will take them a couple of minutes to realise they can't start it and precious time oin organising the "push". All of which gives you the window of opportunity ,,,,if you rush them shoutingg like a bayonet charge this will fluster them more and there is now a very good chance they will panic and the theief will hop onto his mate's scooter and zip away,,,,If not they are seperated and more vulnerable with their backs to you should you try and kick them off.... Well done!
It's a very good idea, anything is better than nothing, anyway here's a really simple idea, have a lanyard attached to the bike with a clip hook attached to the key ring, when they snatch the key the lanyard will pull the key out of their hand when it's fully extended, might just give you enough time to react to the situation, might work might not, at least it's cheap and simple, I don't think they take the key out usually though, I think they hit the engine kill button then push you off then pick the bike up restart it and ride off whilst you're still trying to figure out why you're rolling around on the road
The law is quite clear - Actually that's not quite correct. The law IS quite clear: you MAY use reasonable force to protect your property. The problem here is - what is "reasonable". While I (even though I may be a solicitor) think that introducing said scrote to my pet pick-axe handle IS reasonable, your average judge will not. It's all a question of balance. If you're 6' 3" and the scrote is 5' 1" you may find that what's reasonable is quite different to the occasion when you are 5' 1" and said scrote is 6' 3". The judge will certainly look at those circumstances. However If said bottom dweller does take a serious bloody kicking that did NOT endanger it's life AND you were to administer first aid, call an ambulance etc then the judge will almost certainly allow you the right to protect your property. Just don't do it with a 12 gauge - however tempting that may be. Personally I wouldn't call plod either. I won't bore you with "why" but if you don't know you're too stupid to understand anyway.
