My new Desmosedici is being prepped at JHP

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Dave, Sep 24, 2012.

  1. JHP say they can sort the spacer. Any other issues with 999 wheels?

Good advice. My thinking exactky, but hadn't thought about the headlights. Any idea how the LEDS would stack-up for road use, MOT etc?

  2. I found the 999 wheel at the time a bit of an unknown quantity, however this was almost 3 years ago, may be things have moved on but it was a challenge trying to get someone to manufacture the right spacer at the time. Also, what effect does the narrow have on handling?

In regards to mot and led's not sure but its unlikely to pass an mot. Wiring is easy, the leds wire into the headlight loom that remains behind the cluster.

The other bit of advice is springs and suspension etc. The bike is designed to be ridden within an inch of its life, therefore its setup not to squat under power or dive under braking. This doesnt suit my riding style (not enough talent) or weight (12 stone) I had protwins put lighter springs and oil in mine which made it more rideable but its still a pig to ride on track. For example, I am much quicker on my 1199 and my previous 1098 than I ever will be on my desmo. It just takes a riding style that I just dont possess. :( Still a phemonenal experience though, puts a grin on your face everytime!!

  3. I have my doubts about the width of the wheel as well.

Hmmm. I'm gonna want to ride mine on the road - that is where it will be used mainly - but I don't want to have to go through a big changeover job every time I take it on track.

Same with me I'm sure - JHP assure me that they know what they are doing with new springs etc.

  4. I remember the day Dave :-D

  5. Hmmm - I think that's it [/QUOTE]

    LOL...

  6. 7 grand for a front wheel... jump to BST's immediatly :)

  7. I had some QB fairings for about 10 minutes. They then went back in the box, back in the post and away.

catalyst composite stuff went straight on. Pm me your email address and I will send you pics. Also, I think Roy saw them

  8. Thanks for the heads-up

Is that Catalyst stuff only available direct from the US?

  9. To answer my own question - it is only available from the US.

They don't do a seat unti for the GP7 exhaust.

Waiting on a quote including shipping from the US for the rest.
