My Radical SuperPantah project.

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by nuttynick, Aug 22, 2012.

  1. I dunno Nick. I would ditch the carbon can and go for something more in keeping with the 'era'. Were there carbon cans when this design was about? Pre-dates my motorcycling experience I'm afraid.

  2. Stock pipes were chrome, as were some 2-1 systems. Although I did have a black chrome Conti on my old Pantah. As I've got some carbon on it already I quite like them ;-)

  3. yes, fair enough! It looks great whatever. I'd love to do something like this, but I've got two projects plus a resto (paint mostly) to be cracking on with.

  4. That bike is looking really superb, Nick. Well done.

If you need a hand running it in...

  5. That is superb, great effort, some chrome or powder coated conti's at a higher angle would look superb and the swing arm either powder coated or chromed perhaps, just my opinion, I can just about change a light bulb so I'm in awe at this.

  6. You need a set of cans like the ones Senna has fitted to his paul smart copy race bike...I'll see if I can find a pic

  7. Sorry all I can find right now but guess you can get the idea :)

  8. You can get a stainless cone for about 30 to 40 quid, you'll have to find a baffle etc but still a lot cheaper than £400! When you first started this project I wasnt sure if I'd like the result, but it looks great, well apart from the wrapped headers, I hate wrapped headers.

  9. Not a fan of those hi level conti style pipes I'm afraid. Any links to the shorty cans?

  10. As above mate, eBay and search cafe racer exhaust.

  11. Are you intending to shorten the rear subframe mate?

  12. No, the subframe is staying as it is. It took a long time mocking it up until I was happy with it ;-)

  13. Pipes shortened, a very easy job!

  14. Excellent job nick

  15. Wise move on the pipes. Looking the biz.

All it needs now is that seat looking at. Bottom of back of tank looks vaguely unfinished [..runs for cover]

  16. The seat will stay as it is for the moment, maybe in the future I'll get a gell pad seat made for it. The 'hole' in the back of the tank is big enough for a tool box/disc lock holder if I get time/can be bothered!

  17. That's much better

  18. much better Nick

  19. Looking good. I notice the crank case breather pipes missing. Are you going to fit a filter or pipe? The reason I ask is that I'm not sure what to do on my project. I was wondering if it really needs anything on there or not.
    Have you ridden her yet?
