my 1199 quickshifter was crap but at the first service it had a ecu upgrade and is now smooth ,still not as good a proper translogic one tho ,
Word has it that it is actually heavier, but perhaps more consistent feeling between left and right hand corners, but I bet the real reason was to provide a marketing differentiator.
I don't mind the DSS but I just wished theyd made it look better. Looks like it was taken straight from a Monster ( works well on the Mon, not so much the SBK)
Cos the last time they fitted a DSS to their top of the range sports bike they never heard the bloody end of it.
At least the AA can handle a Ducati these days. They couldn't recover my 916 back in the nineties. I had the proper light weight Marchesini wheels & the AA basically gave up after sending two different motorcycle recovery vehicles/trailers. The bike was finally pushed into a car dealerships showroom & left there for 4 days! 6"wide rim & specific instructions not to mark the wheels stumped them.
Went to take it out and big puddle of oil under it, checked level and it was just visible at bottom. Hopefully it's just a loose sump plug or something, I could not see as fairings cover it all up
Ah, that sucks! keep us updated on what it was, I guess it's not easy to see because of how tightly packaged it all is. Are the dealership on it?
Thats the pitts man, you must be ripping..... It wouldnt have had its first service yet, so hopefully its just a PDI issue ( that shouldnt have happened either ). Id be interested to see what cause was.
Flip that suxs. Glad ur ok. Here's hoping it's just as u say - still the person who did PDI shud b kicked if it is!
The Ducati troubles I have had (and there haven't been many in 28 years) were always with new bikes in the first weeks of ownership. After that, they were all fine for years. So I wouldn't worry about it - that's what guarantees are for.
Dealer is on it, they said call Ducati rescue and don't ride it, and they said they will sort it and also fit the termis etc whilst it's there. Sort of expected it as my only other ducati I have owned did the se from new!
Aww sorry to read of your troubles, I hope its nothing serious. Ive been keeping mine in the house so an oil slick wouldn't be a nice thing to have in my living room. Good to hear the Termis are starting to arrive though hopefully mine will be here shortly too.
When I spoke to Ducati at the show they said the exhausts were in stock no problem but they were not shipping them as they had not sorted the re-map, but my dealer says they have now been dispatched. See what happens
was weeping coolant out of a pipe joint! (it felt like oil!) its done and has termis and re-map etc. and sounds awesome. just waiting for the roads to be nice so I can collect it
Thats good to hear that it was a minor fault, will be going to see my dealer tomorrow as my cowl has finally arrived and will be asking about the termis for mine.
